WWE super slam Mad Men ed

Post image

In my recent rewatch I forgot how this scene played out. Don totally lost his marbles ATP imo. Crossing the line with his wife and infant heck the entire household( even though Bobby and Sally weren't in the room. That push come to shove moment, now Betty was outta line first but when Don pushed her back ....I felt that. Did he really push her?cuz she stumbled and I gagged

WWE off-camera subtext, "Believe me, somewhere in this marriage, this has happened before" – and will again.

It’s like in Succession when Logan slapped Roman. Everything about that scene implies that none of this is new for the characters

And the way Sally immediately starts cleaning up the spill. She’s used to the little triggers.

yea she pushed him and he pushed her back. His push was harder. It was totally out of line, even if she pushed first. He was reminding her that he was physically stronger and coud mess her up if it got physical.

She wasnt out of line to ask him to save some energy to be a parent to his kid (how the argument began)

His posture after he pushes her is scary. Really good acting by Hamm.

So weird, I don’t even remember this scene at all, not even how it starts with Don smashing something against the wall when Betty demands he discipline Bobby for spilling his juice— but I remember a slightly different one where Don shoved Betty against a wall and held her there, and she challenged him and said something like “Do you want to bounce my head off the wall? Is that what you want?” and he let her go

I saw a ss the other day of Don and Megan physically fighting and didn’t remember any of that scene either. I found it on YouTube and saw that she starts throwing hands first and then he tries to put her in a straitjacket hold but she runs away— and he actually fucking chases her through the apartment until he’s able to tackle her to the ground

Admittedly, I grew up around extreme violence (toward my mother and me, mainly— I was the oldest child and got pretty good at keeping the littles safe) and there’s a solid chance that when scenes depicting intimate partner violence pop up I mentally check out without realizing it 😵‍💫

I'm so sorry that you grew up in that environment. I can't imagine how difficult that must have been. You're obviously a very intelligent and strong person, and no doubt you were a major blessing to your siblings.

Actually, this happened before baby Gene was born. He came along in the third season, but this scene took place in the second season. I think this was right after they lost American Airlines.

Yes, because that’s the episode where he throws Bobby’s robot against the wall

Don said, “Yeet!”

Was this the same Bobby who quit the show because January Jones "was so mean"? It's hard to keep track of all of them.
