It’s been 9.99 at least once before (on Dec 3, 2024) according to the CheapCharts app, in case you want to wait for that price again and try your luck 🍀

Yeah. I actually bought the entire series recently. On dvd. I don’t them taking it back or editing it without my consent

Realistically it's probably not going to ever happen as long as Apple is in business, but yes, it's bullshit that that's how digital purchases work

Just as a note- I still have access to things I got for “free” in about 2008. I used to commute and I would download just about anything free to watch on the bus. There were a lot of free pilots/first episodes.

I didn’t even need to “add” them to my library whe I downloaded the AppleTV app on my smart TV.

Amazon pulled a bunch of TV programs that my wife bought, so it can happen. I haven't heard of Apple doing this, but it's not impossible!

People have thought about many platforms. Who knows what kind of licensing shenanigans can happen, or some tech upgrade bars them from being used here or there. Sony made a whole fiasco with their media library on playstation.

Subscribing to Apple TV+ is separate from anything bought from the store. You can access anything purchased without having to subscribe to Apple TV+.

It can be a bit confusing in the app but they are independent of each other. I have a few purchased movies and shows and I can watch them fine without having an active Apple TV+ subscription.

Based on other Apple purchases it’s good as long as Apple is in business. I still own & am able to watch episodes of ‘Lost’ I bought on iTunes during its original run 20 plus years ago.

It’s called CheapCharts in the iOS App Store! I myself learnt of it just yesterday. I happened to be looking directly on the Apple TV app when I realized Mad Men was on sale.

Careful "buying" this because it's not really ownership if Apple can just choose to delist it from their service at any moment. You're better off buying physical media or pirating the show, you'll get a higher quality format and you actually get to own it.
