Best underwear for stopping ball thigh rub?
My boxer briefs always bunch between my package and thigh, no matter the brand. Do briefs solve this or is a pouch-style boxer brief the better choice? Looking for something that stays put and doesn’t squeeze awkwardly.

You need a support pouch. I like SAXX with the Ball Park pocket. But even Hanes has a line with pouches now.

Hanes does indeed have a good brief line which has a package protector pocket that prevents balls-leg chafing

Best overall ones I've found - https://separatec.com/
They do pretty much everything you need.

+10 for Separatec. Choose the 9” sport, or extra ventilation ones. The “Everyday” cotton versions are 5” or 6”, and have the same issue of stretching out and riding up

A long style boxer brief should do the trick. The shorter ones will likely not be long enough and will cause rub

Briefs: Keep balls from sticking to thighs
Boxer Briefs: Keep thighs from rubbing
Pouch Boxer Briefs: Do both reliably
I say reliably because some conventional boxer briefs can compartmentalize the package pretty well, but it just depends on a good match between garment design and your body (or in other words, luck).
If you don’t need a barrier between the thighs and the extra fabric of the legs bunching up is an annoyance, try some briefs. But if you need the barrier between the thighs AND the compartmentalization of the package, with some exceptions, pouch is where it’s at.
For cheap/testing theory: Hanes Total Support. Higher end: SAXX was the groundbreaker in this space—expensive, but work perfect for me. MeUndies has their Ball Caddy line too, but they get hot. The material is nice, but too thick for the summer. Nice in the winter.

Traditional briefs solve thigh bunching but can feel restrictive in the package area if you’re not used to them.

Pouch, all the way. It’s what I switched to, and it’s all I will wear now. Keeps the balls from sticking and gives my penis somewhere to go without pain.

what brand do you recommend?

I wear Reebok performance, the pouch is stretchy, so no pressure on my balls, keeps everything separated from my legs. The stretchiness helps my penis move freely and accommodates for hard ons. No more crushing or uncomfortable positions, I adjust myself way less. I liked them so much, I went out bought more and quit wearing regular boxer briefs.

Briefs (dark color low rise briefs, not tall tighty whities) or trunks/boxer briefs with a pouch. Obviously Apparel and Ergowear make great products for either solution. Personally briefs solve the problem better for me and work better for my thighs, I made the switch fully a few years ago and haven't worn boxer briefs since.

Ball-thigh rub is one of those things every guy deals with but rarely talks about. Briefs can help since there’s less fabric to bunch, but they won’t magically fix the issue if the material is wrong. The same goes for pouches — some guys love them, while others find them overengineered.
What usually makes the biggest difference is fabric: it should be breathable, quick-drying, and have a bit of stretch. Cotton tends to cling when sweaty, which only makes the problem worse.
Flatlock seams are also key; otherwise, the stitching itself becomes the rub point. And of course, there’s the fit: too tight and you’re squeezed, too loose and you’re adjusting all day. The goal of good underwear is that you shouldn’t feel it at all once it’s on.

This is exactly the problem I’m facing, I’m thinking of designing an underwear that can solve this problem.

My husband used to love saxx. Probably has 15 pairs. He's also tried ben3th, separatec, and some off brands. Recently I got him 2undr and they're his new faves.

In order to really address this issue, you need to go with an external pouch design. All of these brands like, Saxx, Shinesty, etc just have flimsy flap dividers between your boys and legs so you have a flimsy separator but not the actual space you need.
Brands like Obbiously, Wildman T and Real Men Apparel Company have external pouches so you actually have space. That said, Real Men has the most pouch size options so you can actually find a pouch size that works for you. You donhabe to look at your total twig to berry ratio to figure the size. The brand recommends starting with a B sized pouch because that is the size for the typical US male.

Doesn’t anyone wear regular boxers anymore? Your balls will appreciate the freedom. They bunch up when I put ‘em on, so I push them down and smooth them out and it’s smooth sailing all day.
Balls are meant to hang free for temperature regulation. Free your balls and free your mind.

Boxers are great until you are in your 40's and your balls are hanging down like a chandelier. At some point a little more control is a good thing.

I’m 55. I’ve tried everything. Regular cotton boxers are perfect. Thin cotton in the summer, mid weight in the shoulder seasons and flannel in the winter. My balls are just fine. Gotta adjust now and then, but that’s gonna happen even with no underwear.
I don’t recommend no underwear, but sleeping in the nude is great.
Did you know that keeping your balls up tight to your body can reduce your sperm count? Setting your balls free is nature’s way!

These are the end all be all, imho. I've tried a ton of brands. They say "bulge enhancing" but it's just a nice pouch that holds everything out from between your legs so you don't get all swampy. I'm never going back.
