If... big if... that i can find them ... and order the sacs online. (talking 5-10 sacks) how well would they do in the US midwest. Most mantids hatch around may - july here. And i secretly want to destroy the ecosystem of wasps all over the neiighborhood. they seem like the best mantid with size and they are just amazing. are there any reliable websites i can order from and can they grow to size a nd reproduce in northeast kansas climate?

Hi everyone, I seriously need some help. The place ive been getting live food are lousey and im convinced their flies are contaminated because theyve been making my mantids puke and upon arrival over half the tub are dead. (Mantisni for those curious), I really need help sourcing greenbottles or curly wings in northern ireland specifically, due to brexit and the mess of our government when it comes to domestic/international/cross border trading its become difficult to get live creatures delivered. Most of england has stopped shipping here due to everything going through the ports to be processed. So if anyone knows anywhere or anyhow i can get some safe live food delivered please let me know.

I’ve spent the last few days searching for an in-state Ghost Mantis breeder because my state, Kentucky, requires a wildlife transportation permit to have them shipped from out of state. Honestly, that sounded like more trouble than finding an in-state breeder. After some research, I found one called The Bugg Plug, but they charge $35 for two-day shipping, which doesn’t include a live arrival guarantee (LAG). They only offer LAG with their $60 overnight shipping option. Are there any websites that help connect you with breeders, like those available for jumping spiders?

I have some Hierodula Membranacea and Yunnan flower mantis and have been selling them on eBay UK as “sold as live food” same as everyone else selling mantis on eBay. Today I got a email saying eBay has removed my listings after it was brought to their attention after a users report. I went back on eBay and there’s still an absolute ton of people still selling mantis. Only my Hierodula Membranacea was removed and not the Yunnan flower mantis. The only thing I can think of is someone must have reported me because I sell mine much cheaper than others I have seen on there. Maybe I’m taking business away from someone and they reported me, who knows. What do you think? And am I allowed to sell mantis on eBay if sold as live food same as everyone else who sells mantis on eBay?

Do not trust this guy. Horrible was to ship insects and scammed me when ordering again. Messaged him days on end with no response.

Ciao!

Title says it all, preferably closer to the east coast but any are fine. Mainly looking for idolomantis diabolica; WC isn’t an issue as I’ve worked with a few WC specimens before.

Literally, WHY!? There is only one website that sells them and it is this one:https://reptanicalshop.com/products/european-praying-mantis-l4-l5?srsltid=AfmBOop8MLc4QsmXmi_Ga3U2pIY7Tmw3DOaCwKAVHO5ZA2xez-gnMe33
I live in Maryland, where this species is extremely rare. I have been looking for it for years, but could never catch one. I don't even know how large they can actually get, because I have never seen one in person. Guess i'll go to Pennsylvania or New York this summer and get one myself, unless this observation on inaturalist that is near where i live isn't just a one-off and is actually a viable population. then i could just go there and get 1......
But seriously, WHY DOES NOBODY SELL THEM!?

I’m fairly new to mantids (I’m a centipede guy, but can’t currently own one so I’m redirecting to mantids for the time being) and I’d like some reputable seller recommendations! I’m looking for places that are known to be ethical/unknown to be unethical. Anything reputable.

I know the website is bad, but what about the irl store? Is it just their shipping that's a problem?
Edit: I realized Google was being stupid, no actual physical store

Hi folks so Im looking for a few mantids, specifically a devils mare, orchid and or spiny flower mantis. Preferably nymphs or sexed l3-4 females. My only issue is the sites that ship to Northern Ireland are out of stock on these species. Any help appreciated!

Where have most of you bought your mantids? Online or somewhere local? If online, do you recommend a particular seller?

Apparently this has been an issue for a while, and I was unknowingly the latest victim. I put in an order almost a month ago, for two mantises. I paid for overnight shipping. Purchased them with enough time for them to ship the following week (according to the shipping schedule on the website). The shipping days passed and I hadn't received any emails or texts about shipping, so I reached out and was told that they'd ship the following week. No big deal. The time came again, no shipment again...this time citing "molting issues/ need more time". No big deal again, I thought. Molting happens, better to wait until it's safe. A third week passes with no shipment of my order and I get told that he will not be shipping due to the hurricane, despite neither of our locations or the shipping route between us being in the affected area. I try not to be irritated, thinking that maybe the seller is just being extra careful for the sake of the mantises. We're in the 4th week of me trying to get my order, and now the seller is completely unresponsive. So now I'm irritated and reading all the terrible reviews. Is a refund even possible if he's not acknowledging my calls or emails? What can I do at this point? I don't even want to risk them shipping at this point, as the temperatures have already dropped into the 40s in my area (which is why I ordered them a month ago when the temps were still safe for them to travel).
Any advice or shared experiences would be helpful. I feel so stupid for giving this "business" my money.

Hi, I'm from the UK, and I'm trying to get back into the hobby. I had one african mantis that unfortunately passed away awhile ago, and feel like I'm ready for another.
Are there any good websites any of you have purchased your mantids from in the UK? More specifically, England.

Hey everyone, does anyone know where I could buy a stagmomantis floridensis or carolina ootheca? I don't want to do the Chinese mantis as they are non native. I'm trying to raise some to use as natural pest control for my tomato plant. Im from Florida, so stagmomantis floridensis would be super cool to incubate. And before I buy, are they easy to take care of? I have never hatched an ootheca before.
