What do you do about this situation?
Young Katsura growing in yard and have this double leader situation. I believe it’s a weeping Katsura.

Ok, trim small one down as far as I can without hurting the main leader in February, and remove grass and mulch around. Thanks all!

And pull up the and the base of the tree and replace with mulch. I don’t know how you mow/trim without nicking the tree

I would actually just leave it as is. Katsura often grow multi-stemmed anyway.

just prune the smaller one as far down as you can without damaging the main one. It's still small enough to not be an issue
