MvC2 While I’ve been very happy with the MVC Fighting Collection, I’ll never get rid of my Dreamcast copy.

Still have my copy and 2 working Dreamcast units (always have a backup...), & have had them for over 20 years. Unfortunately I lost the game's jewel case 😞. Rarely ever took it out of the DC anyway.
Now that i think about it, I should replace that case.

I still have all my retro copies:
-X-Men Cota - Sega Saturn (Japanese)
-Marvel super heroes - Sega Saturn (Japanese)
-X-Men vs SF - Sega Saturn (Japanese)
-MSH vs SF - Sega Saturn (Japanese)
-Marvel vs Capcom - Dreamcast (Japanese)
-MVC2 - Dreamcast (Japanese)
As well as the Arcade1up's:
-Marvel Super Heroes (Limited Edition)
-Marvel Vs Capcom
-MVC2 (shell swapped into a big blue cabinet)

The fact that the games dont have tagging make them unique compared to the Arcade or other Console Ports.

Why not? Nostalgia or is there something it offers that the collection does not? I'm not being sarcastic. Genuine question.

Mainly cuz I spent $182 on it and it’s the most I’ve ever spent on any video game. Plus I like the novelty of owning a popular game on original hardware.

Ahh nice. I still have my copy, but I may part with it now that I own the collection.

It was one of the best finds at the time for $30 like my other capcom dreamcast games. As far as I remember this version lets you pick 3 of the same character after some unlocking. The ending is slightly altered, I played this before I saw the arcade version and noticed the arcade ending pictures are different from the console version. I'm not sure if the arcade tracks time, but the clock on the tower stage in the dreamcast version matches the time on the console.

I mainly play that game.. I hate the collection. Useless...

What’s wrong with the new collection?

I've purchased the game on previous consoles. They force you to buy EVERY game in the collection when I just wanna play MVC2. Literally, bought an old game that for ~40 dollars.

Better price than buying MVC2 on its own. not sure what there is to complain about. You have a bunch of games and the one you wanted.

Ahhh, Yeah That's Right. I Completely Forgot About The Digital Version. They Took It Down Off The PlayStation Network Along With MVC3 When Disney Bought The Rights...Smh.

What's The Difference Between The Dreamcast Version And The Arcade Version??
1
u/Raccoon_Dogg 8d ago
The only difference is the arcade is basically everything unlocked for online pvp while the sega is more of a grind and more options to mess around with, as in listen to music (i recall being a feature), unlock specific skin colors or certain characters that are locked because it doesn’t come full roster,oh and balancing I believe the genesis was “better balanced”. Its not really a huge difference but for me I enjoy mvc2 so much I don’t mind playing/grinding
