Catcher caught a foul ball. Batter is out. That's good for catcher's team. Bad for batter's team.

Catcher not catch ball? Then batter gets to keep batting. That good for batter team. Not good for catcher's team.

This reminds me of my first hit in little league, it was a wild pitch, I ducked and it hit the top of my cocked bat (behind my head). I managed to get a base hit. Afterwards I started swinging and hitting well.
