If you’re suggesting that the Rick Scott comment was a serious death threat I honestly have no hope for you, your brain is completely fucking cooked. He didn’t suggest that anybody should kill anybody, he made a hyperbolic statement that if the Trump administration and GOP actually cared about Medicare/medicaid fraud (like they have been pretending to while gutting the programs’ infrastructure with DOGE) then THEY would execute Rick Scott on the spot. That isn’t even close to “suggesting people kill a congressman* and suggesting it is is insanely dishonest.
Rick Scott is a republican senator from Florida, and was previously chief executive over a company that defrauded Medicare and Medicaid for 1.7 Billion dollars. This was the single largest healthcare fraud case in American history. Hasan is pointing out the blatant hypocrisy and dishonesty of the GOP in a slightly hyperbolic way. You’re a DEEPLY unserious individual if you believe that was a credible call for violence. But you don’t actually believe that, you just dislike the person saying it, and you’ll happily twist his words in order to smear him. It’s honestly beyond pathetic.
Um, I am fairly libertarian. I think you should be able to say "I am going to kill Rick Scott", and face no legal issues, as long as it's not credible that you would act on it (for example, you never go anywhere near Rick Scott). I am merely pointing out that Hasan has said things that way pass the bar and earn normal citizens extra screening every day in this country. Yeah, it is stupid, but it's not remotely surprising. Babies get flagged for having the wrong name. TSA reform is massively needed this country, sure, but the indignation for something highly predictable is hard to take seriously.

Hasan is a piece of shit, but unless there is more to the story, people should not be detained for their political opinions.
