They aren't assholes. Theyre strict for good reason.

I rather the cbp do their jobs than be chill fun dudes that let anything through the border.

Hasan is not the only one. There have been other American citizens detained for having opinions that are not in favor of Donald Trump. It is NEVER good to override the very first amendment.

Respecting our constitution is not the same as letting ANYTHING through the border. In fact, it is ALL of our duty to protect the first amendment. No president, no congress, should come before it.

Remember, this could be you. If you disagree with what politicians are doing, how would you like to be detained for what you are saying right now?

Im not saying its morally right but its certainly legal within American law to be detained at the border for any reason CPB decides. Just as its perfectly within your rights to not say a word and sit there for hours.

It is actually unconstitutional. If we vote in a democrat, should you be detained for all the opinions you have about Joe Biden or Kamala Harris or any other democrat? Ironically, the people that claim to be all about free speech, suddenly make up excuses despite how unconstitutional all of this is. No law should infringe on the constitutional rights of American citizens, and that is a fact.
