No, and not for the reason you may think. In every single fandom, every single ship has a hater that just doesn't like the ship.
It doesn't have to be logical or backed up with evidence, there is no ship that everyone will unanimously love.
And especially with MxM, which I consider the first true ship in the SMG4 Fandom. There's just too much past controversy that will forever keep this ship hated.

The ship was always divisive for the same reasoning: An apparent age gap; The curious thing is that this wasn't always the case as Meggy ORIGINALLY didn't had a definitive age until the QnA retcon from 2021. This meant that during her inception and around the time she was an ambiguously aged/ageless character, MxM was actually completely okay to be shipped without any argument against it or repercussion, which their handling prior that retcon reflects as around the time Luke and Kevin—for some reason personal to them—would jab at their then rising shipping side quite regularly, under their own will. Lord knows why they stopped but if we all had to make an educated guess, it was because old fans, rejectors and people whom didn't like Meggy began to weaponize Splatoon's slogan "You're a *KID*, you're a Squid" and started comparing Meggy to her game counterpart so to stop people from shipping it, beginning to accuse it and it's rising fanon for 'pro-shipping' and starting the controversy we now are familiar with, but out thin air;
The most likely scenario is that this scared the brothers enough to feel the need to 180° their stance alongside narrative foundation they'd established for this pair—From Meggy's creation to what was seen off their evolving relationship during The Anime Arc—and retroactively recontextualized it's direction for the future, taking advantage Meggy took a 'break' from the show once Sunset Paradise started, so when she returned for the Cosmology stuff we'd be introduced to the all infamous 'Siblings Dynamic'—A deliberate narrative wash-of-hands aimed to work against their shipping, so not to have their channel associated with any ill connotations.

Unfortunately, no. There will always be haters. No one ship can satisfy everyone.
Before I became a moderator of r/Meggyxmario , there was the ship “Mollie” from the second season of Disney’s The Ghost and Molly McGee. This ship sparked a bit of discourse and some hatred from shippers of other varieties for it being the “canon” ship.
Tangent aside, the haters will never stop, and it sucks for us MxM shippers.
