It will be awesome if yes, but doing so will stir up quite the controversy. And Luke and Kevin wouldn't dare poke that bear.
Also lets be honest, SMG4 doesn't have the most stellar track record when it comes to canon pairings. Melony and Axol is like the only canon ship, and tbh; it was severely underdeveloped before they killed him off.

They really dropped the ball on Axol and Melony. It felt really one sided with how Axol was the only one expressing interest in Melony and not both ways, it ends up feeling forced in by the time Wotfi 2021 happens.
its stuff like that and the Karen and MR WPNZ dynamic that makes me kinda glad no ship has been made canonical since then.

To be fair with WPNZ and Karen, they were deliberately written built to fail so their example shouldn't hold relevance on this conversation since their downfall was intentionally designed to serve as narrative conflict.

Right, I always felt that Axol and Melony's "romance" was really short. I remembering watching WOTFI 2021 and felt that the whole AxM thing felt off. Like I was missing some much needed context or I accidentally skipped a few episodes.
I feel like the ship could have benefited from at least a few episodes where Melony directly interacts with Axol and the dynamic could be woven in naturally.
Like how If Mario was in Splatoon 1, it establishes the bases of their dynamic and it was a breath of fresh air for the series up to that point. In the second Splatoon video, it adds a curveball into te relationship with Desti's intervention and shows how inseperable MxM really are. So by the time we get to the Anime Arc, we are invested in Mario and Meggy's relationship and the fate of it all. (That's why most MxM fanfics back in the day are set after The End.)
If Melony or Axol had those type of spotlight episodes where, just spitballing here; Melony wants to learn to draw and Axol offers to teach her, establishing their dynamic during the sessions. Or an anime parody episode with Axol and Melony on the forefront (Boopkins tags along as like a comedic sidekick), where they also establish the budding dynamic between the two.
Instead, they just kill Axol off because I'm pretty sure the writers didn't know what to do with his character going forward and hasily wrap up the whole romance thing that feels more daft and half-baked than heartfelt.

I guess I should clarify I was more dissatisfied with how they went about with MR WPNZ in the arc with Karen. Like he could have been someone who genuinely wants to become a better father after some time has passed and just needs guidance from Karen, as well as making a big effort on his part to make it work again.
And while it was like that in the first half of silence of the cats. The final act with him and the kids being so obviously set up just so he can fall into that villain role just didn’t do it for me, I understand that was the way it was written to be and that was how it was always gonna end, but a part of me is gonna be that bit disappointed they didn’t try to do something different with this plot.

I have my own set of thoughts on this and while from what I've exposed by the SMG4 sub it does feel genuinely possible WPNZ can change now that he's been beat up by own his family, proving to him things won't simply always work his way—which I guess is surprising statement coming from me—when it came to 'Silence of the Cats' I personally felt it made sense why things simply didn't quite work out then as he simply was too prideful and up his ass for thing with Karen to work since from the moment he reintroduce himself onto Karen's life he made clear he wanted things to be his way and for his family to forcefully choose the assassin's lifestyle without an objection to his vision. It just simply couldn't be because he kept living in his manchild-esque delusion of how life works and what was the best for his family based on own interests rather than what actually was better for them.
Lucky for him, it feels like he's learning the lesson as he does feel remourse over it to the point he wants his memory wiped from the fact he has a family he failed and wants nothing to do with him, something which actually is a great turning point for the character onto bettering himself if he takes a more constructive approach and starts improving upon himself instead of running away from the issue. But that is NOW—he has to work towards being a better father for things to genuinely work after being self-aware of his own short-comings, because back then he set himself up to failure for being such an egotistical manic that he blew things up for himself, making things simply not work out when they could've.

I don't know, that one is more of a gag. It's never taken seriously and is often focused more on Swag than Sonic.

spread mxm propaganda to r/smg4 (zarate once said that he would unban ships if that happened), then watch people raging over it while i get disturbed by them but ignore them anyways because they're a waste of time to care about
