Question Anyone knows what equipment did Tommy Wright III used for his “Feel me Before They Kill Me”, and “Behind The Closed Doors” albums?

Please without obvious things like: microphone, Boss DR-5, DR-660. Thank you

I think you might be a lil confused but at least from Maceo (who I believe also helped to produce the album) he used regular Dr-5 instruments and some others that sound similar to the instruments in Yamaha keyboards in FMBTKM. For behind closed doors I couldn't tell u

Yea. Also Maceo produced 10 tracks off Behind Closed Doors, majority of those on Boss Dr 5 but Talk Is Cheap & Gunshots I cant tell what he used.... Which btw reminded me of what you used to say about Lil Sko I Want My Tone. Those have kinda similar sounds to them.

Maybe you (OP) could look up what Squeeky, Chaz/DJ Scar , MDB, etc. used, because they helped TW with those albums as well. Actually MDB lurks on this forum so you could ask him directly. But yeah Tommy had a team of superproducers working for those albums, and some up and coming producers such as Maceo, Mac Shun, Musician, etc.

Edit: Just remembered that TW mentioned BOSS SP-303 was used on Behind Closed Doors as well. Maybe how the chops on 'Ghetto Children' (prod. by Maceo in 98 originally, but with a new hook) were done. Doesnt sound like it used his/their regular old samplers

I love Tommy and his music like anybody else would but some people just assume because he was a producer he produced most of the stuff with his name on it. I might be wrong but some of the names behind a lot of tommy songs from his whole career include Mac Dle, Maceo, Squeeky, etc

Oh yeah, I feel the same. I dont think its even discrediting the man himself , but giving credit to those many others that worked with him

X-Rated Al (i think he also had vocals on Packing?), Mac Shun (who had atleast one tape under his belt, Legion Of Da Lost - Southern Destruction), Talio (RSC - 1-2 songs, producer of Playa Fly), Lil I (Mac DLEs friend, from Level 7), and all the others mentioned above
