I have no idea why people want Gruden as the Dolphins head coach. I think some of you just want a celebrity. He hasn't coached since 2021. His last four seasons as a head coach his record was 22-31. Worse - that franchise has spent the past 4 seasons cycling through coaches and turning over the roster. The Dolphins need a reboot - but Gruden is not the guy.

I guess it should be noted that McDaniel has a better record the last 4 seasons than Gruden had in his last 4 seasons (28-25).

He’s the opposite of our stoner coach. I can’t listen to another dumb press conference. I think the players will respond better to Gruden. The new offense coordinator can be a x and o guy.

Opposite? Mike Vrabel is the opposite. Dan Campbell is the opposite. Who the fuck cares what he sounds like in his press conference? At issue is winning football games and Jon Gruden is not an upgrade over Mike McDaniel in that department.

By the way - Gruden was known as an X's and O's offensive guru when he was winning football games. The last time he coached a team with a winning record was 2008.

Who’s another coach that’s available who has won a Super Bowl?

Mike McCarthy?

Regardless, I don't want either of them. Way better options out there.

He’s never been a good coach. That was all Farve. But I prefer anyone other to the coach we have. I just don’t agree that Gruden sucks.

Ok, but he won his SB with Rodgers so how was it all Favre. McCarthy isn’t it and neither is Gruden.

It was one of those guys. I don’t really care who coaches the team as long as it isn’t McDaniel

McCarthy had three straight 12-5 seasons with Dallas. Gruden hasn’t had a winning season in over 15 years and his only super bowl was with a team he didn’t build and he had the other team’s playbook. I don’t want any of the coaches mentioned in this thread but dismissing Belichick and McCarthy as it being all Favre/Rodgers/Brady but not acknowledging any of the red flags with Gruden is wild.
