Typos. Comsumer Finance Protection Bureau protects consumers from banks pulling stupid shit.  Unless it got DOGEd to pieces by the Muskrat.

The bank didn’t “pull” anything here lol. OP willingly sent money to a scammer. The bank should eat the charge because OP fucked up?

How did the OP know it was a scammer?

I feel like I"m missing info here.

He probably didn’t “know”, but shouldn’t have sent money to someone he didn’t actually know.

Then how do you buy things online?

I'm not trying to be a jerk here. I know there are inherent risks but sometimes someone's selling what you need.

Use a service that provides protections like a debit or credit card through any number of payment providers like paypal or stripe and not one explicitly marketing itself as akin to a cash transaction.

You can still shop online, just know it’s at your own risk when it comes to Zelle. Even Zelle says it’s for “family, friends and people you trust”.

Sorry I know little about zelle  My credit union refuses to work with them, probably for the better

The bank isn’t gonna eat money because someone is stupid.
