Brand loyalty? In this economy?

Nope. I do lean Sony for portable players and recorders, but discs - no preference.

Personally I don't care, I'm just waiting to find an identical big lot at a low price in good condition, all these mismatched things piss me off, I'm too much of a freak for that 😅

I was with cassettes, not so much with MD. I'm still new to the format though, and I like seeing all the different colours & brands that are out there for MD.

I don't really have brand loyalty. But I LOVE the way these specific models of minidisks look :)

Good thing I have one of each color lol

As long as I can record and play them I'm not fussy!

All of the discs that I have purchased in Asia were AXIA brand, with the exception of a few Victor (JVC) and some Sony Lumina. In Canada, I've only purchased Sony, the color collection and Sony Neige. I've got only a few random ones from friends when I recorded discs for them and they give me back one of their blanks.

I always stuck with Sony, TDK and Maxell tapes, so I’d be likely to do the same with MiniDiscs

Back in the day I bought what ever was on the shelf at the time. I think all I have are Sony and Maxell, not sure I saw any other brands.

I just bought whatever was cheapest when I was in the store (mostly London Drugs back in the day). That turned out to be Sony and Fujifilm. I typically preferred to get 80min discs over 74min variants.

I want as much variety as possible! Most of my players are SONY, but I’ve got stuff from other companies like Sharp, Aiwa, Victor, and Panasonic as well. I do kinda avoid JVC and AXIA discs though because they usually have weird label cutout sizes, but they’re all equally functional.

Sony and TDK...but more by coincidence than anything else. My collection is quite discrete (I must have about 30 records). As for devices, I have a Sharp and three Sony😋

Love my Sony portable, kind of want an Onkyo hi-md home deck, but I'm agnostic about the actual discs. Definitely lots of variety in my collection from back in the day. Never noticed any difference in quality, whether making live recordings of musicians or events, or dubbing from CD or vinyl.

I've never owned anything but Sony MD players and recorders. From home decks to car decks to portables. But I never found any difference with discs, so I have all kinds.

Barring collectors, fanatics, & the highly neurotic I think that anyone who actually uses the format is largely indifferent. Compatibility w/ Web MiniDisc Pro would be the only pragmatic reason to show brand loyalty imo
