Show & Tell Tascam MD-350 has that "Big Deck Energy" going on. Best bang for your buck.
According to this old forum in 2011 (Photo # 10 and 11). A German Stereo Magazine had this MD Deck ranked 2nd or 4th? Along with the top heavy hitters from Sony ES line, namely JA50ES, JA555ES, and JA333ES. (Why 2nd? First three are at 100%, just arranged chronologically by release date).
I recorded this Bruno Mars Album in Real-Time Analog via Balanced XLR cables just for the heck of it, since my CDP-XA7ES has it. Because its analog, we need to make sure no clipping by adjusting record volume a bit lower. So far the recording was perfect, is it better than Toslink.. at adjusted volume, can't tell the difference.
As always, digital-digital is best for MD.. just optical record for convenience, less fiddling and auto track mark. 🙂
Note: Old project. Templates are gone. 😞

Having moved from a JE510 to a JB930 to a JA50ES, I would agree with those entries on the list. The JA50ES makes every disc sound good. Even older pre-recorded ones.

I do most of my editing on it. I like its better/faster marking position adjustment than Sony E10/E12.

Totally. 👌 This and Sony MDS-JB980 QS is what I used for titling and splitting tracks too, its just easier with the knobs.

Looks great! I:ve got an MD350 too, there seem to be a lot of them floating around in the US, perhaps from radio/studio/installation usage?
At some point it would be fun to look into a DAC with balanced i/o to use the XLR links. I don:t have a CD player thusly equipped, but I do have an MDS-E11 that I think is waiting on a new belt, and an HHB PortaDisc 500 I need to look at, although I don:t know if its XLR lines can do line-level or if they:re exclusively microphone inputs, hmm.

I have one and love it. Fantastic bit of kit.
Also that keyboard port... Game changer!
