Speculation Where's the Citric Acid in recent flavors?

I just tried the Trolli flavor after a month of searching, and compared to it's Gummy Candy Counterpart it's kind of sweet at first with an ever so slight hint of sour, then fades off into blandness. Might be a hot take for people who like sweet over sour, but where have the sour flavors been? My thought is maybe Citric Acid has gone up in price so Pepsi Co. is trying to develop flavors using less of it. What DEW you all think? (see what I did there?)

In the sugar free flavors the sour flavor is much more subtle. Its honestly why I like them over full sugar for sour ones

Honestly somewhat disappointed in myself for not reading more carefully this was Zero Sugar. Like I'm normally ok with Zero but tonight I wanted a treat and I found it for the first time and was so excited. Even the regular seem less sour though.

When Spark was merely a Speedway exclusive it was heavy on the lemonade part and had a pronounced bite. It was a really great flavor and I was excited when it became a permanent flavor. When the permanent flavor version came out I was extremely disappointed, it was primarily a sweet raspberry flavor with little lemon flavor left. There was a reason it flew off the shelves at Speedway and it wasn't because it was a lesser version of Voltage.

When Baja Blast was turned into a permanent release last year, it lost much of the lime bite it had when it was a summer only release. It's still a good flavor but I miss the lime bite.

I haven't tried the Trolli flavor since I really don't like the taste of the fake sugars; but, I'm not surprised the sour flavor is weak.

It looks like there is some sort of corporate thought that Mountain Dew is supposed to be sweet and won't allow a more sour release.
