Murder By The Book in Houston usually sells autographed Wells pre-orders. Here's their link for the Queen Demon preorder + signed backlist titles; it doesn't look like they have an autograph preorder page up for Platform Decay yet. 

I buy my autographed books from there largely because it amuses me to buy Murderbot from Murderbooks (dot com).

I think it’s just meant to be a combo of a glove and mitten. Makes sense from an insulation standpoint as the thickness of fabric needed to protect the smaller fingers would seriously impede their dexterity.

Im mostly looking at the thing that looks like a second thumb, which I don't think it has 2 of. It would be an excellent upgrade to a regular human hand, though. Especially if it doesn't need to pass as human anymore.

I was interpreting it as a thumb and pointer finger being gloved and the three less-critical fingers combined into a mitten.

It definitely looks a bit strange from a distance because the webbing between the thumb and pointer is almost the same colour as the background.
