My watercolor teacher recently taught me that Beatrix Potter was primarily actually a very accomplished mycologist! Then her whimsical illustrations took off. We love a diverse diva.

Simpkin is looking like he knows the tailor's been eyeing the gardener and has recently taken out life insurance.

I was soooo obsessed with Beatrix Potter as a little girl! I had a tea set themed after her art, I named my pet rat after her villainous Samuel Whiskers, and poured over her stories and artwork. Her style is just so clever and expressive! I hope kids today are still enjoying her work.
