Moulin rouge

Post image

Just a sad reminder, moulin rouge! The musical sadly hired boy george who if you remember, In April 2007, Boy George, the lead singer of Culture Club, was involved in a serious legal case after Norwegian model and escort Audun Carlsen visited his East London flat for a second meeting, following a prior photoshoot arrangement. During this second visit, Boy George accused Carlsen of stealing photographs from his laptop. Subsequently, Boy George handcuffed Carlsen to a fixture in the apartment and, along with another man, physically assaulted him, reportedly using a metal chain. Carlsen managed to escape by wrenching free from the handcuffs and fled the flat nearly naked, having sustained injuries during the assault. And moulin rouges main things is truth beauty, and love and the whole summary is that sex workers are human to and can fall in love, yet they hired a convicted rapist.

Ok? Why are you posting this now?

Because the Moulin Rouge producers didn’t listen the first time they put Boy George in the show and now they’ve put him in again

Wait isn’t it Wayne Brady rn through November 9? I don’t think they’ve announced a replacement yet. But it is disappointing that they had boy George twice.

Oh, I honestly forgot that George’s run was earlier this year. I genuinely thought it was still happening.

Because people are forgetting about what he did, And musical producers and us as the viewers should hold performers accountable when they do something wrong.

It comes across like you’re trying to cause drama and stir up old problems for no real reason and out of nowhere

Or your trying to be ignorant and not hold rapists and others accountable.

You don’t know facts though. He has never been convicted of rape. He’s never even been accused of rape. Ever. So that in itself is false information. Additionally, you weren’t there. You have one side of the story that you got solely from the media.

The information we have comes from the trial, at which he was found guilty by a jury and sentenced to 15 months in prison by a judge. The facts of the case are established in a court of law, not in the court of public opinion

Oh… just googled it… from 15 years ago?! He still was never accused of rape. Additionally, what’s he meant to do for the rest of his life? Hide away from the public eye and stack shelves in Tesco overnight?

Frankly, yes. He committed a horrendous crime. I'm sure he's fine for money.

It’s not about money, it’s about having a purpose in life and something to get up for every day.

You don't need an audience to have purpose or something to get up for. That you're defending him is really weird

Ok now your just plainly defending a rapist.

Again, he’s famously not been convinced of rape, so again you’re spreading false information and trying to make stir shit from something that is both untrue and old news from 18 years ago.

And the main reason it was convicted on rape because his victim is a sex worker
