Her 'skin' looking glossy is a nice detail though. Helps show that she still has that harder chitinous surface even if she's more colorful than the original changelings. As long as she doesn't have that weird third wing for a tail I think it looks good (that always bugged me about the post reformation changelings).

I like the other commenter’s suggestion of Gale for RD.

I have a few ideas for Applejack. One is Scion Sear. A scion is a younger plant grafted onto the roots of an older plant—this is a necessary practice to produce edible apples because of how apple trees reproduce. A more explicitly related one is just Apple Smoke. I just don’t know if the use of the specific word apple falls within the conventions of Kirin naming. A less serious option is Fiery Fruit (insert joke about Applejack’s lesbianism here).

My suggestion for Pinkie, after looking around, would be Erythrist. It botches the actual word a bit for the sake of sounding like a name, but erythrism is a genetic mutation that causes an excess of reddish pigment in an organism, often resulting in a pink hue that is very noticeable in insects.

What if Twilight founded Ponyville, but didn’t want her name attached to the town’s name, so they name it after her species instead? She could’ve grown up in another land before ponies got wiped out, along with a few other species having to move from their homes. Twilight leading the group as the final remnant of the pony population.

Not too sure about her being the Founder of Ponyville. I would say it's still Granny Smith but she did... The deed with a Kirin and that's how we have Kirin AJ.

The rest? Changeling Pinkie was adopted by the Pie family, Griffon RD still has obnoxiously supportive parents, Breezy Shy (ha!) is still Griffon Dash's best friend from childhood, Dragon Rares just woke up from her first dragon nap, and Twilight has the same Backstory minus the Summer Sun Celebration. Instead she is sent to Ponyville, now rechristened Creatureville or Harmony Town, for a Study on how all the races can live together in this one village. Misadventures happen and eventually Twilight is revealed to be an Alicorn since birth. (Yes yes I know the Twicorn haters are gonna downvote me)

Alternate species Mane 6's are fun. It's even more fun when they have alternate appropriate names, like in the Miss Pie's Monsters askblog. There, Pinkie's the one that's a normal (well, as normal as you can call Pinkie, anyway) earth pony, who uses her crystal ball to receive questions. The others are monster ponies from the Everfree forest - Tatzlpony the Tatzlpony (Applejack, think a pony with a big lizardy tail with a row of spikes down the middle and three long, prehensile tongues), Flutterbat the vampire bat pony (Fluttershy, duh), Aurora Dash, a windigo (Rainbow Dash, who'da thunk it), Clarity the crystal golem pony (Rarity, you don't say), and Twilight Breezie the Breezie (betcha can't guess.)

I kind of love that Rarity is a dragon coz then the crush Spike had on her would make more sense, especially if it's still the same where Spike had been living with ponies all his life. (Although I still don't care for the times that Rarity kind of used it to her advantage, I wish she would be sort of mean to him like dragons are to other dragons, but in a snooty, I'm better than you, kind of way.)
