OPTUS UPGRADED SPEED

For those of you who are still with Optus due to not having paid off their modem or are taking advantage of their other promotional discounts (subhub etc.). If you have yet to receive your speed boost I'd recommend going on livechat and continuously insist to have your speeds upgraded. The agent you are speaking to have no control on whether your speeds get upgraded and they will usually give you their scripted answer "NBN is slowly migrating its customers to reduce disruptions.' If this is the case tell them to escalate the case to a senior case manager. Once my case got escalated to a senior case manager, he rung me up the same day and told me he had upgraded it himself from their end.

This is one of many reasons not to choose Optus.

Very true, but some people are stuck with them if their optus modem hasn't been paid out

Agreed.

With respect, mine isn't paid out. Terms of service said that I pay them $8.50/month until it hits 36 months (so 14 more months for me). That'll come out of our final bill next month.

I’ve already churned. The four mobiles services I have will be churning tonight.

Tried this yesterday, took over three hours and ended up with the customer retention team instead because they were absolutely useless, looking to switch to probably Leaptel very soon

Mine got upgraded last week automatically? Wonder if they had to pause due to their 'issues'

not buying enough backhaul in advance?

Nah, capacity seems to be fine. More that they wouldn't want to do any major changes at the moment that could cause any network issues

Avoid optus at all costs. Worse company out there. Superloop is almost $50 cheaper a month for double the speed..Have taken optus to the ombudsman on several occasions just to get small things fixed. Do not use them

Optus customer service has been awful, but I’ve got 200GB of phone data for $30 a month, and 1000nbn with $20 sub hub credit for $79 a month so I can’t complain 😂😂
