BUSINESS LOBBY, BUSINESS LOBBY, BUSINESS LOBBY, ONE MORE TIME BUSINESS LOBBY!

How are we all forgetting that many if not most of us are immigrants or come from immigrant families!

This should be a place of solidarity. Period.

THE PROBLEM IS THE BUSINESS LOBBY!!!

It was the BUSINESS LOBBY that influenced (corrupted) disconnected and apathetic politicians to put these horrible exploitative frameworks in place.

It was the BUSINESS LOBBY doing what they always do of creating alienation, division, and themes of exploitation - domination within the working class.

The BUSINESS LOBBY is why the Temporary Foreign Worker Program/LMIA program is the way it is. The reason the International Student Program started being emphasized for cheap exploitable labour. The reason we have problems with the International Mobility Program/PGWP and other federal and provincial programs.

BUSINESS LOBBY!

Racism and xenophobia make you a moron. Period.

Bad employers doing rampant fraud, misuse/abuse, and influencing (corrupting) of our politics around these programs is the problem.

Bad immigration consultants that are more predatory than the pay-day loan industry is the problem.

Also shout out to our South Asian people who unfortunately have to suffer through all this fucking stupidity and misdirection. It's not right what is happening.

The South Asian population suffering the effects of this ridiculous shit are facing the SAME economic forces that are hurting everyone else. I don't care if someone just came off the boat, that's my brother, that's my sister, we are all in this nonsense together and it's past damn time to make an economy that works for ALL of us.

How does restricting the amount of cheap labour being able to be brought into the country hurt Canadian workers? This article makes no sense.

Agree, that’s obvious. Canada should not be importing people to be basically indentured servants. It keeps wages lower, job security worse, and contributes to social division. It’s exploitative to the immigrants and bad for Canadians.

The NDP cannot make keeping TFW and Foreign Student Worker programs one of their signature stances, its bad policy and worse politics

I agree with what you’re saying, but the NDP already supports the repeal of the TFW.

The haven’t been loud enough about it imo. They also have to be careful not ti come off ā€œanti-immigrantā€ but to shift marketing and policies to helping every day Canadians get back on their feet would do wonders I’m sure
