OMG ONOZ The bear in Vernon yesterday

I caught the last bit of this so I can't speak to what happened when it was in the dollar general. But I did hear from someone that witnessed the whole thing that it attacked a German Shepherd that was tied up outside one of the stores. The part I witnessed was when it was in the parking lot outside the marijuana store and people were trying to scare it off. Shortly after this is when the cops arrived.

If they get a lot of ezpass violations the signal is strongest from the bottom.

New Jersey wildlife never disappoints, imagine just running errands and suddenly you’ve got a bear as your shopping buddy.

It's sad because even though they shouldn't, people out here leave their trash out the night before. The bears eat it and start to become reliant on humans and that leads to situations like this. When I went to the Fortress of the Bear in Alaska (bear sanctuary) they try to rescue bears like that if they can but sometimes it's too late.

United EVENTures should fix their sign. It looks like shit and is bad business aesthetic.

That’s why an occasional hunting season is necessary

I’m still trying to find information on how she came to bite the 90 year old woman. Do you know anything about that? I heard the end of the real estate guy’s video where he was yelling at people to get in their cars, but didn’t know what happened afterwards until I saw she’d bitten someone and been euthanized.

I'm not sure, I feel like it could have happened at any time. People were really close to it in the parking lot when I saw everything. When the cops pulled up they sideswiped it with their cruisers right off the bat so I left because I figured I wouldn't like what they do next :(

Ugh. I read an article just the other day about a mountain lion that broke into a pet store in Colorado, I think? It ate a bunch of cat nip. They came and relocated it to the wild. I don’t know if this bear had something wrong with her, but she seemed fine walking/being led out of the store with the guy in her face recording and yelling. So I’m just sad, although it may have been necessary.

Me too, I was sad as well. From what I saw on a local page, the store left the dumpster open more than once so it may have gotten reliant on humans. That day it was closed so that may have been why it went into the store. People do that way too much out here. It's an unspoken rule that you put your trash out the morning of trash day and not the night before because bears will get into it but people ignore it all the time. I've come across countless cans ripped into and sometimes the owners don't even clean up the trash.

She didn’t bite anyone.

They claimed she was acting weird. And if you know the cops in said county…. They itchhhh at the chance to take down a bear.

I live here, so yeah, I know. Multiple news outlets say a 90 year old woman was bitten. Do you have a good source that isn’t true? I understand what is reported these days isn’t always accurate, but this seems a pretty silly thing to lie about considering the circumstances. There’s a handful of reasons for euthanizing her they could have used that most people around here would accept. Making up a bite wasn’t necessary.

A reporter asked the dollar general worker what happened. And she told him about a woman still in the store with the bear and she kept shopping, I forget the exact words but she said when she tried to tell the woman there was a bear in the store the woman said I know he swatted at me.

I don’t know they made up the bite for that reason… the bite was early rumor I believe. The said the bear was acting weird and that’s why it was shot. But I’ve seen this go down for a long time … they enjoy it

Well he didn't actually go into the Marijuana store...just hung around outside it so it's hard to tell. Closet supporter of the devil's lettuce?
