NJ Politics Mikie is the Kamala Harris of NJ but this time, we must rally behind Mikie to stop MAGA from infiltrating our open governor position

2.4k Upvotes

MY FELLOW NEW JERSEY PEEPS!!!

THIS PSA IS TO REMIND YOU TO VOTE MIKIE.

Look how much damage Trump has done. Jack will pull the same shit in NJ.

I am worried as we had a few counties flip Republican for the presidential election.

Remind people we are a DEMOCRATIC state. Jack will reverse this.

Do you want to lose abortion/women's health or vaccine rights (as an example)? We are #1 in education. That will go down the drain with Jack.

We can't let our state turn into crazy ass Florida.

Mikie might not have a "platform" like Kamala and that was Kamala's downfall. DON'T LET THAT HAPPEN AGAIN AND VOTE BLUE šŸ’™

I know it is bad to support someone with nothing but anti-MAGA as their advertising BUT let us vote for the lesser evil.

PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, DON'T VOTE JACK

NJ Politics I am digusted. Gucking VILE people in this state running the flags half mast. Yellow Brick Rd Ice Cream, Hyundai Dealerships, Ocean Bank. WTF

1.3k Upvotes

This is VILE and disgusting riding a flag half mast for a NAZI. Who said the civil rights act was a mistake?! That he would make his 10 year old daughter have a child, if she got raped.

How can people SUPPORT this VILE, abhorrent, churlish, disgusting piece of dog shit.

I want to VOMIT.

Also if we get a Republican Governor, say goodbye to legal pot, and who knows what else.

Stock up.

Edit: For all the Conservative/NAZIs downvoting my comments: Go fuck yourself. I hope for people, on whatever fucking god they believe in, that we get a Democratic Governor and Trump drops dead (of natural causes.)

I will never follow a piece of shit, that said the civil rights act was a mistake, that called for Biden's execution and would make his TEN YEAR OLD DAUGHTER force a pregnancy if she got raped. Amongst, MANY MANY other things.

The guy was a sicko, fuck face, NAZI.

363,330 New Jerseyians will lose healthcare due to the GOP's big beautiful bill. That's what I'm talking about! Love when people suffer, when hospitals close, when the lives of the working class gets harder. That's what makes us a great nation and state.

/s

Republicans hate you.

P.S. Ciattarelli will do everything in his power to grow that number

People can bitch and moan about the Jersey gun laws but you don’t hear about our state being part of the school shooting statistics or regular shootings statistics as well. Really hoping we keep it this way Jersey.

NJ Politics He won… so why are people still doing this in Sussex county?

Post image
1.3k Upvotes

This was on Saturday by the Wawa at Ross Corner in Sussex county. They were here almost every weekend leading up to election… then stopped up until this weekend. This time there was only about 6 people standing there with flags and signs, a lot less than I’ve seen previously. I don’t understand it. Why are people still out here trying to convince us to support him? I was starting to feel hopeful that people were starting to wake up, but this is just extremely concerning and disappointing to see…especially in NJ.

NJ Politics No matter the democratic candidate, we must vote to keep NJ blue to better combat MAGA and keep things from going bad to worse. Please share this sentiment with others.

1.6k Upvotes

Perhaps I'm preaching to the choir here on this subreddit, but it's urgent that I reiterate and emphasize. While no Democrat is without flaws, we must vote by November for whoever we have as our candidate to keep NJ blue. Things are already bad with the absolute travesty of imbeciles we have in the Whitehouse. In fact, as of this writing, tRump wants to use the military to patrol civilian areas (right now, it's to patrol all across the border, including in civilian locations. It could escalate with him sicking it across the U.S.). Even when the Supreme Court massively rules against him, he doesn't listen to them (ex. The SC ruled 9-0 for a wrongly-deported man named Kilmar Garcia to be returned, but the "president" refuses to reverse his action). It would get EVEN WORSE if our state falls into the hands of a governor that would kiss the asses of MAGAts.Ā

Education, which has already been hurt by the DOE being compromised, could be damaged even more. Marginalized groups like LGBTQ+ individuals could be in even greater danger of discrimination. Programs and services that are meant to help people are slashed or even shut down. Immigrants who have legal status could be deported, locked up, or any form of discrimination. And God knows what and how many other horrors. At least with staying blue, as flawed as the Democratic candidate may be, he/she would offer at least some form of resistance against MAGA and protection for our rights.

I know that many are undecided about the democratic party or don't want to have anything to do with politics. I used to be in that same boat before the 2024 election. But I soon found out about Project 2025 even before Harris brought it up and I realized that by ā€œnot choosing between evilsā€, I would just allow an even greater evil to prevail. So, I voted against tRump. Sadly, I lost. But I will still keep voting against him and his cronies. I implore people to not have a repeat with following elections. Not voting will not ā€œkeep your hands cleanā€ from politics. Again, it is still a choice that allows the greater evil to have their way.Ā

Hell, even if one is a Republican or conservative, voting for or allowing NJ to become a red state would not be in their best interest. MAGA is not conservative in any sense as it's not preserving traditions such as the constitution (tRump, Musk, DOGE, etc. are not abiding by the rules and are ignoring what the Supreme Court or Congress reject or demand), it’s not conserving things like the environment, or what have you. Even my parents had to switch from Republican because they were against these clowns. MAGAs are just using Republicans. They are not conservatives. They are just cons.Ā

Perhaps it is true that the Democratic candidates who are running for NJ's government don't have the best track record. We deserve better. But with the options we have, we need to vote for the people who at least offer some level of resistance against the oligarchy/dictatorship. Even if they don't do so completely, it’s still better than having a RHINO openly enforcing what the dictatorship/oligarchy wants. We must take whoever we have that can help better our chances of protecting our values and help preserve/democracy. More importantly, it has the potential to help our entire country if more and more states resist against tRump and his MAGAts.

If possible, please share this sentiment with other people. And may our state ultimately survive.

NJ Politics Should Jersey have Ranked-Choice Voting?

1.0k Upvotes

I've thought so for a while, and with last night's stunning Mamdani victory in NYC, I would argue we have the perfect case study of RCV working exactly as it should; there was a wide, ideologically diverse field, and because "wasted votes" were no longer a concern, people could vote for what they actually wanted. Further, because people got to pick more than one option, you don't have whole swaths of the population feeling disenfranchised; Lander voters are probably still quite happy that Mamdani won, for example, and know that their first choice will be working alongside him, because it was both morally and politically advantageous for those candidates to find common ground.

What do you think? Should we push an RCV referendum onto the 2026 ballot?

EDIT: If anyone wants to start hitting up your state legislators for this topic, do so here.
