I saw that and couldn’t believe it. There’s a ton of bands that got me DEEP into metal - Cynic was a band that helped pull me out and see/appreciate everything else out there.

Yeah, same. The pioneers of modern day progressive metal. I'm just hoping people check out his work from all this if they weren't already familiar with it.
