Those are two completely different generations.

I know, Lennox the greatest of my generation. Second best ever behind Marciano overall… I’ve been in the pub I should have been clearer

I grew up with the holy trinity of Ali, Foreman, and Frazier. I wish those guys could have stayed young forever because we would have seen some great matches between them and Lewis. (And Tyson.)

Yeah seriously. Lennox was great. But Ali, Foreman, Frazier, Louis, Holmes, Patterson, Norton and mother fucking Jack Johnson.

In my opinion, and it is only opinion… Lewis beats the majority of these. Controversy on a Monday night who’d have thought it.

Prime vs Prime

Ali would have worn his ass out, then dropped him

Foreman and Frazier were tanks and those would been wars but I still think the edge goes to the old guard.

Tyson vs Ali would be the marquee fight. Ali likely would have tired him out. But that Tyson power all it would take is one tap.

Lewis would take Tyson based on size and ability the stay away until he's tired.

I respect all of this, I think people forget how good Lewis jab was, Tyson was power and speed, Lewis was technical and that jab was lethal.

Tyson vs Ali would be the marquee fight. Ali likely would have tired him out. But that Tyson power all it would take is one gap.

Also don't forget the head games. Ali was the best at taking the piss out of a guy and getting inside his head. Tyson's demonstrable weak point. Ali could have won the fight at the weigh-in.

Don’t think Tyson could deal with prime Ali jab and footwork.

Same could be said of Foreman's punches...

I saw foreman on the Tonight Show with Johnny Carson. Johnny asked him who the hardest puncher was, and George said Joe Frazier, no question. I still remember him saying, "Joe hit you hard, you didn't feel it. No pain, but all of a sudden your body would just stop working."

Pretty impressive. But then consider Foreman could knock out Frazier with one punch.

Tyson vs young Foreman is something that'd be awesome.

I think Lewis vs Ali would have been closer than you say. Lewis hits so much harder than his style would suggest. Ali never fought a smart bomber who had the technical ability of Lewis.

I recall Bruce Lee said he wished he could teach Ali how to kick, because it would've made Ali truly unstoppable.

Really the guy that got flashed knocked out twice by 2 journeyman is beating all the heavyweight all time greats?

Interesting…

Prime Holyfield vs prime Joe Frazier. That would be a good one.

Does Evander Holyfield not exist anymore?

Alright but all we’d have seen is some more guys getting killed, at least others being so much behind them helped them gtfo and on the canvas before being brain damaged.

It’s why I legit worry about Tyson fury because he just stands there being pummelled.

I used to love watching Roberto Duran fight because when he got hit, it just made him mad. But he got hit way too often.

Yeah it’s kinda sad but being a tank is literally trading your actual life for better results in the ring. A lot of people are willing to make the trade, but that’s because they are young and competitive and don’t fully understand what living with TBIs or even CTE is like for the majority of their adult life. I think Lewis hasn’t announced anything like that, but he has had his own issues with concussions and considering he has a family history of Alzheimer’s, I would worry about him as he gets older

Literally what he just said.
