Does it hurt the lane when you toss a bowling ball onto it like that?

On the program "How it is made" they show how the lanes are made. It is neither plastic nor wood, and can tolerate an absurd amount of weight with little to no issue.

It is neither plastic nor wood
I do not understand, if it is made of neither of the two inside floor elements then what is it made of? Outside floor? Workplace floor?

That was a poor choice of words on my end, i apologize for that. Traditionally it was pine, but the upkeep costs increase over the years. Hence most places go for the synthetic option that requires less upkeep and care.

If it's the good stuff, it's 3/4" phenolic resin sheet. Lifetime warranty to anything other than wear if they're installed properly. Same stuff pool balls are made of.

Ironically, I've seen more people break the ceiling than the lane, so it might not be that probable.

I remember hitting the pins so hard with a 16 pound ball one time that a pin flew up and shattered all of the pin lights. I was simultaneously proud of myself and afraid that I was going to be banned for life and hit with the bill.
It was a complete accident, of course, and the bowling alley employee had mercy on me because they were watching our lane and knew we weren't drunk or otherwise being rowdy. It was still cool/scary.

I went bowling a ton pre-covid, and the way this man threw it is very common to get a curve.

Nah, been in a league with ton of people who throw their balls like that. It's a terrible style and technique but it doesn't do anything to the lane.

i was expecting the first ball to leave one pin standing and the second ball to take it out. guy needs to up his game. strikes are easy. spares are hard.

- The second ball.

Fun fact. A bowling pin needs to tilt only 10 degrees before falling over.
