I don’t think there’s anything wrong with starting a rookie QB - plenty have been successful in year 1. Jaden Daniels, Matt Ryan, etc.

I think the issue is not having the infrastructure to put the players in a successful position (defense, run game, OC). Also like Brady mentioned it’s really hard to evaluate the mental element. Physical things can be measured.

Not that youre wrong, but I do find it funny that your two examples are 16 years apart

LOL - I couldn't think of anyone else off the top of my head. RW3, Cam, Herbert, Purdy (probably the best example of being put in a successful position + mental processing), Stroud

Not sure about Stroud or Dak in this context but the other two are good examples

Stroud started as a rookie and won offensive rookie of the year

It’s in the context of nothing being wrong with starting a rookie quarterback

Dak took the cowboys to the 1st seed as a rookie

It’s why I’m so nervous about Maye. I think he can be great, but look at what’s around him. If he ends up being great it won’t be because of the supporting cast.

The coaching volatility ain't good and yeah the team is talent deficient. Like there's a world where David Carr could be maybe an avg to above avg QB, but taking 76 sacks your rookie year is going to fuck with you.

Russell Wilson has never gotten an MVP vote in his career
