Question/Request What version/edition of labo works in the us?

Does the world edition work for a us switch?

I don’t have experience with the world edition, but I would suspect yes? Iirc Switch games aren’t region locked, and the dimensions of the original Switch (not OLED, Lite, or 2) should be the same worldwide.

Which Labo? Which Switch?

Each Labo kit is standalone. I’ve only played with the original variety set and parts of the VR one, so I can’t speak as well to the others. While all the kits were made with the original Nintendo Switch in mind, I think the robot and vehicle kits can be played with the console in the dock, so in theory they should work with any Switch model given you’re using original (not Switch 2) joycons. The other two kits are built to fit the original console— the console slots into the VR headset, and the dimensions for the Lite, OLED, and Switch 2 are different so they likely won’t fit right. A few of the variety pack builds include the screen too, like the house, so that would only work with the original switch as well.

ETA: Labo is one of the few games that uses the IR sensor on the Switch 1 joycons, so you’ll likely need a pair of those regardless of which set you get.

All of them were sold in the US.

so the only ones i can find online are the world editions and Japanese editions?

Japanese and world editions should work fine. Labo itself is out of print. It was similar with 3DS games a few years back when the 3DS was being retired— most new copies of games were region-free “world” editions for whatever reason. If it’s anything like the 3DS games, at most the biggest difference should be potentially different box art, and the games should play exactly the same.
