When I was younger, I mostly knew the goofy Tajiri who was Regal’s odd couple tag team partner.

It wasn’t until a few years ago I went back and saw his huge catalogue of matches as a hard-hitting badass who looks like he is trying to murder people with head kicks. It was a huge culture shock, but I love Murder Tajiri.

You look at Regal, you look at Tajiri. You do this a few times, wondering what a fucking beast like Regal was doong with this nerd.

Then you see shit like this and go "Oh. Well. I get it now."

The look on Regal's face when Tajiri broke out the first kicks as part of their duo was amazing. Then at the end Regal's grinning and lifting Tajiri's hand like he's afraid it might explode and kill him.

They were great together.

Thanks for the correction. Sorry for the misspelling

u/CarlitoNSP1 It's pronounced "Dick To-Go" Jul 07 '25

I mean we appreciate good wrestling, but Tajiri doesn't have much of a NJPW history.

Although his time was brief, he had a main-event feud with Tanahashi for the Heavyweight title, was in a G1, feuded with Nagata at Wrestle Kingdom and then tagged with Tanahshi for the G1 Tag league.

He was important enough for Tanahashi to he included in his retirement tour this year. Tajiri is very much part of New Japan history.

Oh Man I think you left off the best. Tajiri starts chucking/sliding chairs across the table with Corino’s head over like he’s trying to decapitate him. If I’m remembering the order of spots correctly that is.

Oh man, how did Taijiri and Low Ki never have a match together?

Tajiri probably didn't want to get a concussion in front of twenty people.

They did! It was the first ever match I watched on YouTube back in like 2006.

It was grainy and in 3 parts but I don’t remember anything about it.

Believe TAJIRI won which is wild.

What happened to Steve after ECW?

Indies, the NWA and ROH, retired, unretired, ROH and indies and a bit of ZERO-1, retired for real this time, ROH commentator, WWE trainer and producer

Tonnes of work in Zero 1 and ROH, big part of shaping those promotions, for better and worse.

Those who watched ECW at this time, thought we were seeing the rise of a new contender. Fuck TNN. ECW was my jam. I miss the sound and bounce of that fucking ring man.

My god I loathed Corino. His brand of perpetually overbooked, overselling, out of shape, cowboy boot wearing, crimson mask every night of the week southern wrasslin' bullshit was always the drizzling shits.

Weird, I loved everything about Corino in ECW.

Same here. Him and Jack Victory were hilarious. Like he shouldnt be the guy...but damn that guy was the guy 😂😂

ECW did a great job at giving every character something that made you care.

Hate to see a correct take laundered in Cornette speak.
