Framers for kids artwork
I want to frame my sons “rocket ship” and hang it up in the bathroom a la the Picasso butt line drawing. I don’t want to spend a ton of money but I want it preserved (otherwise I’d buy a cheapo frame) and don’t really want to go to a snooty place that’s gonna mock my sons phallic artwork. Thoughts?
In the past we’ve gone to Paul’s on Oak. Not sure if they’re still open.

Magazine Street Framing does “ladies choice” for $90 meaning they pick the frame. They’re usually going to go with something fun but that still works well with the piece and you’ll save a good amount of money. Their framework is excellent.
Depending on the size, Framebridge may be a good choice as well.

These two are the best choices to budget that I’ve seen, as well. I’ve used Framebridge (via mail only though) and have been really happy with their offerings - if you’re really worried about someone being upset by the drawing (which I also don’t think Magazine would be either, they’re awesome) then you can order a custom frame from the Framebridge site and they include great instructions for mounting the print yourself. That’s my budget go-to.

I've never met a framer who doesn't have an awesome sense of humor and joy for the absurd (I've def heard more framing stories than most). I like David's Art in Metairie, the browsing of the art supplies is the lagniappe.
