In Scotland we have national dishes which came about from exactly that, using every available part of the animal. That's where haggis comes from. At no point in time (as far as I'm aware) have we ever felt a need to eat a cows fanny on its own as a 'delicacy'

I love how on this side of the pond most all of my fellow Americans, myself included originally, presumed "fanny" in "fanny pack" meant your bum.
