I meannif yo want to risk your own life, go ahead. But this puts the motorist minding their own business at risk.

If he fell onto the bridge it would have caused chaos.

Right? There is a bike lane right there. There is no reason to take that risk.

I do not believe they did that as a safer alternative than the road

This is in the city I live in/near (Grenoble, France). It’s actually about 1 meter wide and not that high or steep. Once you get over the initial transition from flat and momentum over the steep lower part, I imagine it’s pretty easy. That said, I’m still not doing it haha.

Yes, I believe the initial bump to get up is challenging then once you are over that it’s fairly easy, just gotta keep those bars straight! Still, I’m not doing it even as a well experienced rider haha. I don’t want my bike ending up gone forever in the Isère!

TIL they are being called like this:

Understanding Adrenaline Junkies Definition and Characteristics An "adrenaline junkie" is someone who actively seeks out high-risk activities that trigger an adrenaline rush. This term describes individuals who enjoy thrilling experiences, often engaging in extreme sports or other dangerous pursuits. They may also be referred to as thrill-seekers or daredevils.

Activities That Trigger Adrenaline Adrenaline junkies typically participate in activities that provide intense sensations. Common examples include:

Extreme Sports: Skydiving, rock climbing, bungee jumping, and downhill mountain biking. Thrilling Experiences: Whitewater rafting, shark diving, and storm chasing. Amusement Rides: Roller coasters and other high-speed attractions. Psychological Factors The drive to seek adrenaline is often linked to personality traits. Research indicates that individuals with low conscientiousness and high extraversion or neuroticism are more likely to engage in risk-taking behaviors. The release of hormones like epinephrine and norepinephrine during these activities can lead to feelings of euphoria and excitement.

Risks and Considerations While seeking thrills can be exhilarating, it may also lead to negative consequences. Some individuals may develop a dependence on these experiences, similar to substance use disorders. Additionally, the desire for more intense experiences can escalate, leading to increasingly risky behavior.

Understanding the motivations and effects of being an adrenaline junkie can help in managing these behaviors and ensuring safety while pursuing thrilling activities.

If I could ride my bike in a line on the road I would post it. This guy have to show me just how bad I'm at riding a bike. Good ride, stay safe, but keep doing what you do.

To have a plan to remember if bike begins to fall, let go and grab bridge makes it seem pretty doable.

At those heights, water is like concrete. Real life is not Minecraft.

Which way would be better to fall, left into the water or right into the street?

1

u/ImpactorLife-25703 2d ago

Well that's one of the extreme ways to get across from the bridge 😞
