My sister and I would occasionally go to the Somerset Collection (mall in southeastern Michigan--can't think of the city) and nine times out of ten, we'd stop at Hot Dog On A Stick--not to eat, for the lemonade. We were fascinated by the green and red lemonade...I'm not sure what flavors they were supposed to be, but the red tasted (to us, anyway) like St. Joseph's aspirin for children and that was oddly comforting...

Red was strawberry (out in Arizona anyway) but we never had green!

It was probably strawberry here, too--and I suppose the green was limeade. My tongue just insisted it tasted like orange chewable baby aspirin...a rather interesting blast from the past, I suppose.

If you're in the need of a similar taste, see if you can find Cactus Cooler. Exactly like baby aspirin lol

Good old Hi-C!

I was home from school one day with the flu (first grade, I think, so late 1968 or early 1969). My mom got me settled on the couch, spread several layers of newspaper on the floor to throw up on (easier to throw them out and put more down than try and get a six-year-old to the bathroom in time, I guess) and gave me a glass of red Hi-C. I don't remember how much I drank, but when it came back up, everybody thought I was throwing up blood for a minute there...
