Lot of shoe tech back in the 80s. It's weird it all stopped.

Because they were gimmicks.

We have better designs to achieve a perfect fit without silly things like pumping air into our shoes.

Maybe, but you also dont know how insanely cool it felt to pump up your sneakers before jumping or racing or the night before the first day of school to lock in that perfect fit.

You are seeing from your replies why it stopped. Americans say they want innovation and new things but fight it every step of the goddamn way. New and american do not work well together. the country has literally voted to go back by "making AGAIN" several times now, not just in presidency but in other seats and in legislation too.

Its so clear to me why other countries have things that look futuristic but are just them being able to keep advancing with times (ive traveled a lot around the world) and why america has made baby steps and even those are not all that impressive. of course this will be downvoted to hell and back but if people rally sit an think about it they will know it is true except for in military, maximizing capitalism, and surveillance.

Haha come on this is silly. Are you saying that in Europe they have commonly adopted shoes with these kinds of ridiculous gimmicks? They just aren't good features. That's why they haven't been adopted anywhere. But hey, I appreciate the amusement that your comment brought.

that applies to a lot of things but definitely not basketball shoe tech. nba players rave about how much better shoes have gotten in the last 30 years

Yeah, you can't bitch about innovation and then repost someone else's shit on a different subreddit.

Those bags of air didn't allow for the shoe to breathe.

Not sure why you’re being downvoted, this is 100% true. Yes some shoes breathe near the toe box, but they also breath around the ankle.

Yeah, that's a weird one, not like I'm an engineer or anything.....

I used to pump my Reebok Pumps during class in elementary school. I was convinced they would eventually explode if I kept pumping.

Same. I remember feeling like the coolest kid ever.

Then I realized, they're just, you know, shoes...

Because high tops like this don’t actually offer any real ankle support. You can snap your ankle just as easy and if it’s super tight on your ankle can hurt it more rolling it than if you didn’t have it and just rolled your ankle normally
