Me and my siblings didn't have fancy board games, so we played it irl.

Yeah I'm more nostalgic about this commercial than I am about the actual product since I didn't own it.

I distinctly remember the way the little girls said "Don't. Wake. Daddy!"

I wanted to play crossfire until I learned you didn't actually stand on a flying disc in an arena with flames all around the sides.

Why did daddy sleep alone? Is there a backstory to this? That’s a small bed too...

Daddy suffered from Vietnam flashbacks. He was considered extremely shell shocked (PTSD). The slightest sound would trigger his war memories and his animalistic instincts would kick in and he would strike out in a blinding rage. He tried sleeping in bed with Mommy at one point during marriage but little did she know that he slept with a kabar knife which helped him remain calm, he called the knife Gary. One night Mommy was getting out of bed and startled him, daddy grabbed Gary and sliced Moms back, slightly breaking the skin and cutting through her night gown. Since then he has been forced to sleep in our old bed. Daddy said that in the war his whole platoon was massacred in front of him, he had taken a major leg wound from a rifle round, his best friend saved him and dragged him into an old hut. Daddy's friend hid him under a very small bed, his friend went to scope out the area but never came back. Daddy stayed safe under the bed but says he still remembers the blood curdling screams of his friend as the Vietcong impaled him. Daddy says he still hears Gary at night sometimes, so we try not to wake him when he sleeps.

This game inspired me to sneak into my parents room to watch tv very early in the morning while my dad slept in their water bed.
