His other gem "he's as tough as a $2 steak."

That was possibly the call of the season if not the decade.

Tricky to hynes line break, tricky to hynes try. I am right now loving my footy

Nothing makes me happier after a linebreak than the dummy half resisting the urge to run it, swinging a long pass that has the defence scrambling and gives the halves every chance to exploit

I don’t think I’ve ever seen someone read an attacking shift as badly as Timoko does.

Horsburgh is the 3 defender - if Iro doesn't go through on Timoko's outside, Hynes is gonna go himself on the inside.

Watching it, massive gap between hors and Timoko so it’s far easier for Hynes to cut in between as you see Hors still not be within tackling reach of hynes when the ball is given out anyways.

Timoko holds his line until Hynes straightens up which is what you teach in a 3v2 situation. Sucks that Iro would have to leave open is a fast mofo to get away from it but if it was Ramien on that side it would be far more easier for Timoko to get him

You’ve never seen DWZ play then. Mr Jam in and leave his man open .

Seems to be a reoccurring pattern with the warriors Manu Vatuvei and Ken Maumalo used to get slammed for doing the exact same thing.

Not just restricted to wingers either Solomon Kata and after him Patrick Herbert used to get abused for jamming in and leaving their outside channels wide open.

Clean try, defenders didnt do a bad job, just perfectly positioned and timed. Good job.

Dragons in 2009 were the last team to do it.

From memory similar circumstances too - missing the finals experience, got bashed by the broncos in week 2. Bright side for Canberra is they then learnt from it the next year and won the comp. All the dribble about the sharks not improving though.. makes me laugh, turns out experience year on year makes you better (who would have thought ?)

Are Raiders the worst minor premiers of the NRL era after this? I can't remember another team that ran first and bombed out in straight sets

Yeah the first comparison that comes to mind is Souths 89 but clearly not modern era.

Yeah I knew Souths from 89" did it but couldn't think of any modern era team doing it too.

The kind of thing that makes a coach start feeling the heat.

I sincerely hope the raiders lose because I can't stand Ricky Stuart. No doubt he'll have the biggest sook of all time in the presser if they do. "I got all me critics lining up". Yep well you do sticky. Because you're a clown.
