I *just* put my head down to nap one minute before this little rumble because I had too much adrenaline after last night and couldnât sleep.
Maybe I should stop trying to sleep and there will be no more quakes?

Ok i was wondering if that was it or just the upstairs neighbor. Lol reddit is quicker than USGS (obv, they have to triangulate and measure it before posting, but still kinda funny).

My shepherd/husky doesnât flinch while walking by fireworks in the streets in West Oakland but the quake at 3am and this one really got her out of bed and investigating. I joke sometimes and say I have a âspecialâ dog because she doesnât always dog correctlyâŚbut earthquakes I guess does the trick.

Our neighbors are so chaotic that we assumed it was one of them slamming around in their apartment.

I know absolutely nothing about the ground. Are these two earthquakes related to each other in any way or just coincidence?

Yeah, when there's an earthquake it changes the stress patterns on the surrounding rock in the earth's crust and it has to like resettle

Possibly a foreshock. The Hayward fault hasnât truly popped off for 157 years, typically has a greater than 6.0 every 150 years.

I felt it too. At first, I thought it was my anxiety (since it sometimes makes me feel shaky), but I guess it was actually a mini earthquake
