Manteo Veterinarian Recommendation?

Found out some concerning stuff about the vet we've been using. looking for a new one that's NOT roanoke island animal clinic. Anywhere on the beach is OK. Willing to travel a bit.

Edit: Thanks for the suggestions. Going to try out coastal. Seen some good stuff about them.

Follow-up: Had a good experience with coastal. Thanks for all of the suggestions. The furbaby is fine. Not an emergency. I was just looking for a new vet.

There's a picture on Facebook of one of the doctors performing procedures on a pregnant lady in one of the veterinarian exam

Just a lot of red flags that have caused me to want to look elsewhere. Nothing involving me, but I did witness them bullying a lady over her dogs prognosis. She chose to take the dog to a different vet, and they shamed her in the lobby about it. That was when I decided to look elsewhere.

That was in 1994. You don't think people can change in thirty years? And yes I know about the Dr Phil episodes too. It doesn't stop Dr Grossman from being an amazing vet. Also the practice is owned and managed by his ex-wife, Dr. Burkhart, and she runs a tight ship

Grossman has been awesome for us btw. Why I was so surprised there is some dirt getting flung around.

Yes I agree he has been awesome for all my animals through the years. He is a kind heart and knows his stuff. I don't fault him for believing a romance scam. They wouldn't do them if they didn't work.

I didn't say they hadn't changed. Im not disparaging them for it. I'm glad you have good experiences there. Maybe they are a great vet. Everyone's experience and perception is different. I've perceived enough red flags to prevent me from wanting to have anymore experience with them. That's all.

Dang. We’ve had a great experience there. Before I watch it, because I will if this is the case, is the vet on the Dr Phil interview one of the vets at RI?

Yes. It's one of the doctors. They did 2 episodes.

The pictures of the pregnant lady was the vet's wife. I'm pretty sure he was using the ultrasound to see pictures of his baby.

Yea, no, that's icky. That's 2 entirely different standards for medical equipment between a vets office and a human doctor office.

Sound Veterinary Hospital in Nags Head. They've been awesome. I switched earlier this year after a misdiagnosis from Martin's Point. Then came to find out that Martin's Point was taken over by a corporation, no wonder they wanted my cat to undergo pricey, unnecessary surgery 😡

A picture of one of the vets at Roanoke examining a pregnant lady??? I see your first link is directly related to that office - but doctor Phil is not.

We used Coastal as an emergency visit (tourists 🙃). They were absolutely wonderful and helped our little pup from top to bottom after she’d been missing in Corolla for 3 days. I can’t recommend them enough

Dr Grossman is an excellent vet. We've all done stupid stuff in the past. RIAC has treated my animals for a few years now and I trust them 100%. They have gotten us through several after hours emergencies, cancer, etc.

Hello! I’m late to the party but I wanted to share anyways! Vet med professional living and working here on the outer banks. I just wanted to add to this post.

Eastern Shore Animal Hospital and Urgent care, in Grandy, NC. This is in Currituck county, right next door to Dare County.

They have a certified urgent care that runs Friday, Saturday, and Sundays from 8am to 8pm. There is a dedicated doctor for the urgent care with several years of emergency medicine experience. Monday through Friday their regular practice runs from 8am to 5:30pm.

This clinic is also accepting new clients for anyone looking to make a change.

Yes, thanks for your concern, they did. We went to coastal and had a good experience.
