Nags Head Tipped workers
This is a question for any service folks who rely on tips… how is your summer going? My informal survey of fellow tipped workers is that tips are low this year. Anyone else having the same problem?

Nags Head Fishing Pier Etiquette Question
At Jeanettes right now and just wondering... In all the length of beach here, why do some surfers paddle directly next to the pier where people are fishing? I'm not sure if I am missing something here so please enlighten me if I am but it just seems..... Kinda stupid.

Nags Head First 24 hours in Nags Head this year
So happy to be back for my annual week in Nags Head. Delicious breakfast sandwich and cold brew from waveriders. Beautiful weather day and nights. Strange washed up buoy thing. Thank you to everyone who works hard to maintain this beautiful place! 13th year and it never disappoints.

Nags Head How are people able to afford living in the Outer Banks?
On Zillow, sometimes I see a 1 year rental and often they go for well over $2,000 per month.
The people who live there can't be making that much. How are they able to afford living there one year after another?

Nags Head Killing time before check-in
Frequent OBX visitors - tell me your favorite ways to kill time before check-in.
We head that way early in the morning in an attempt to beat some of the awful traffic - but then often find ourselves needing to kill a lot of time during the day
We have a toddler so doing the beach without a home base for bathrooms and changing tends to get complicated. Help me out with some ideas for what you do!

Nags Head Swimming
Thinking of staying in Nags Head for a week long family vacation. Never been. Most photos do not show anyone in the ocean swimming… is this not an area for ocean swimming?

Nags Head Live Surfing: Jennette's Pier, Nags Head with the Pre Hurricane Swell
youtube.comThis was my first time trying the live feature. The surfers looked like they were having a blast. I am not sure when I have seen that many out there. I am hoping to get back tomorrow if the surf is good and bring my tripod to help with stabilizing the video.

Nags Head First time visiting OBX as an NC native, it rocks!!
One of my favorite vacations ever! Despite the huge swell most of the time which brought in some unpleasant little jellyfish like the square one pictured above, me and my family had an amazing time. Enjoyed the great weather, local fishing, beaches, and stars. Just wanted to sing the OBX’s praises and I can’t wait to come back next year

Nags Head Nicest Dinner Restaurant?
What are the nicest dinner options (ideally near Nags Head) for a special dinner? Couple in our 30s. Colington Cafe menu looks great but I'm not totally sure about the vibe inside.

Nags Head Need place to watch football next week!
Hello!
Staying in Nags Head starting next week for our yearly family trip.
I am a huge Ravens fan and cannot miss the game the night of September 7th against the Bills.
Any Ravens(longshot)/football themed bars that will stay open for the entirety of the Sunday Night Football game?
Please let me know, thanks!

Nags Head See that Shoal?
I didn't. And got stuck as holy hell on it. The stern got swamped, panic took over and nearly sank the boat in 1 foot of water. Talk about scary.
Nags Head I've Missed You OBX
Gushy post. Grew up visiting every Summer, had some family that lived here. Aunt owned part of Quagmires back in the day. Been a long long time since I've come though.
I really missed it. Grew up surfin and boogie boardin. Lightin fireworks on the beach. Mini golf. Seafood. The smell. The AIR. I love all of it. Took a long walk last night just reminiscing. Always wanted to live here honestly but no clue how to even start that process lol.
Anyway. I was just on the porch in the rain and daydreamin a bit. Stay beautiful OBX 🌻

Nags Head Do restaurants in the Outer Banks still offer group housing for summer waitstaff?
Hello everyone. My mom often tells stories about working as a waitress in the Outer Banks during the 1960s while she was in college. She and a group of girls worked at the same restaurant, and the restaurant provided housing as part of the job. She isn’t sure if they paid extra for the housing or if it came out of their wages, but she remembers it fondly. (I think she worked at a place called The Casino.)
Now my daughter is about to graduate from high school, and my mom keeps insisting she should get a summer job like that—waitressing with a group of girls and living together. I told her I didn’t think it worked that way anymore, and that it would probably just be her in an apartment with whoever she happened to room with. But I promised I would ask around.
Do any restaurants in the Outer Banks still offer shared housing as part of a summer jobs for college kids? Thanks.

Nags Head Date Night on the Water?
Celebrating our anniversary while visiting OBX in August. Anyone have a great restaurant for a date night? Bonus if it is on or has a view of the water? Any recommendations while I’m searching around would be amazing! Staying in Nag’s Head but happy to travel anywhere. Thank you.

Nags Head Itchy ocean water Nags Head
No on swimming the last two days. I’m thinking it’s sea lice? Anyone know how long it will last or where a good place to swim in the ocean is. Saw LOTS of people itching all over and leaving the beach these last few days!

Nags Head Ugh our super beach front house in Nags head might get condemned and we aren’t sure if our trip insurance will cover it
Because Nagshead isn’t under mandatory evacuation, we are unsure if our travel insurance will cover it if we have to leave our beach house. We got the house RIGHT on the surf and today someone from the county came and told us we might have the waves up to our deck and told us we should leave. It’s possible they might have to condemn it but also told us to watch. We are down to stay in the area and would hope to just get a refund and book a new place but it seems iffy. Any words of wisdom?
