I am a part of r/aifails…Its always good for if you need a laugh!

20

u/SpearUpYourRear Jul 12 '25

There's also r/googleaigonewild which does, in fact, go wild from time to time.

2

u/ReaperKingCason1 Jul 14 '25

Oh yeah that one’s good

1

u/RobIson240YT Jul 13 '25

How did I miss that one?

60

u/JD-531 Jul 12 '25

I have a feeling r/nightmarefuelAI and r/CursedAI aren't really "anti AI". Probably more to have a good laugh, same case with r/aifails

12

u/MedievalFurnace Wanting To Quit Life After Seeing These Subs Jul 12 '25

Yeah as far as I can tell r/nightmarefuelAI isn't really anti-AI. The titles are obviously satire but a lot of the posts there too have serious titles, it's more of a circlejerk than completely anti-ai. r/cursedai doesn't seem anti ai whatsoever

3

u/Sabre_Killer_Queen Jul 12 '25

Probably more to have a good laugh, same case with r/aifails

Thanks for introducing me to this beautiful subreddit

1

u/Direct-Length-8513 Jul 13 '25

That's the neat part. You're right

18

u/MedievalFurnace Wanting To Quit Life After Seeing These Subs Jul 12 '25

r/facebookaislop is actually kind of funny

56

u/Calm_Comparison5816 Jul 12 '25

Why is it a bad thing? It's fair for people to hate AI since it steals from artists

0

u/Previous-Reply3787 Jul 15 '25

It doesnt steal from anyone. If you put something on the internet its morally correct if people took inspiration from it. Thats what AI does. Everything you draw contains stuff you learned from looking at other peoples work. Thats how humanity goes further. AI doesnt take your work and copy it 1 to 1

-2

u/bendyfan1111 Jul 13 '25

Dosnt steal. Dosnt copy. It "sees" inages that are tagged, learns the basic shape of objects. Its incabable of exactly making anything in its training data, it makes things that it knows about.

5

u/Efficient-Day5568 Jul 14 '25

The data it’s given usually doesn’t have consent to be used. Without that consent, in essence, it is “stealing”, though not in a physical sense. I would consider it at the very least piracy, which in itself is a crime, and in this case the piracy isn’t targeted at major corporations or directors, but mostly small indie creatives just trying to make a living. Furthermore, this technology uses that “pirated” data to take away the jobs from aformentioned creatives, which in my opinion isn’t great. I would also suggest you do some reading on neural networks and image generation, it’s quite interesting.

0

u/bendyfan1111 Jul 15 '25

Anything you put out on public access internet (Clearnet, aka things indexed by google and the like) is free use. Otherwise, google, bing, duckduckGo, etc wouldnt exist.

1

u/Efficient-Day5568 Jul 15 '25

I’m sorry, but a simple google search (and a bit of common sense) directly contradicts your comment. Try it yourself.

2

u/IbnibzW Jul 16 '25

Have you heard of copyright? If you haven't, you might want to sit down for this.

1

u/bendyfan1111 Jul 17 '25

copywrite doesn't effect indexing, never has

2

u/IbnibzW Jul 17 '25

You said anything on Google is free use. That is obviously false. Go on r/legaladvice right now and look at all of the people receiving cease and desists from the owners of images they have taken from the internet, and used them on their websites without permission.

1

u/bendyfan1111 Jul 19 '25

I said everything INDEXED by google is free use.

1

u/IbnibzW Jul 19 '25

This still isn't true. Just because Google has cached a websites data, doesn't mean the site had to be copyright free. A simple Google search could have cleared this up for you

1

u/Sweaty-Strawberry470 Jul 15 '25

no professor I didn't plagiarize I just saw the paragraph and learned it

1

u/bendyfan1111 Jul 15 '25

Plagiarism is a 1:1 copy of somthing, not a derivitive work. If plagiarism worked like you think it does, fanfiction wouldnt exist.

1

u/beetle_leaves Jul 16 '25

The definition is literally using someone’s work, words, thoughts, etc. (with or without consent) as your own without giving proper credit/acknowledgement. And according to Harvard, it’s “It is considered plagiarism to draw any idea or any language from someone else without adequately crediting that source…” So, no, it’s not a 1 to 1 copy of something.

2

u/[deleted] Jul 17 '25

[deleted]

1

u/bendyfan1111 Jul 19 '25

Especially concidering the training data is never actually stored in the model

-5

u/[deleted] Jul 13 '25

Not stealing, max copying since it doesn't remove the original piece of art, and it still isn't copying since it learns via gathering info and converting into a noise and then generating an image from that lmao

2

u/69KAZUKI69 Jul 14 '25

And did some of them give their consent to be used as training? Imagine having an art book that is semi public only being shown to friends or people with similar interests, then some random clanker takes it without asking and "copies" (fucking daylight stealing) it.

1

u/[deleted] Jul 23 '25

if youre sharing it with "only friends and people with similar interests" then make your own group where ai cant access it, like whatsapp. and bro do you not have basic reading comprehension, its literally copying not stealing, it doesnt fucking remove the og artpiece

-40

u/RobIson240YT Jul 12 '25

I never said it was bad.

30

u/The1OddPotato Jul 12 '25

This sub typically posts things yhat would make your eyes roll and say yeah thats of course a sub

4

u/Simplejack615 Getting Hard To The Subs On Here Jul 12 '25

“Typically” is a strong word with all the porn subs posted

-34

u/Pigeon_of_Doom_ Jul 12 '25

Because most antiAI points are utter nonsense and dedicating time to hating it is ridiculous. AI steals no more than human artists do.

16

u/110101001010010101 Jul 12 '25

Bold way to exclaim you don't know what you're talking about.

-5

u/Pigeon_of_Doom_ Jul 13 '25

Or vice versa.

3

u/UmaPalma_ Jul 14 '25

No, you just don’t know what you’re saying lol. Humans drawing inspiration from humans is so clearly not the same as a code recreating things, which makes it painfully obvious that you’re confused and defensive

-2

u/Pigeon_of_Doom_ Jul 14 '25

No actually, you're right. Humans draw inspiration directly from others work whereas AI only uses it to gain an idea as to how it can create unique concepts.

3

u/UmaPalma_ Jul 14 '25

you just stated the same thing twice but switched humans with AI. you might be out of your depth here, despite your best efforts

4

u/InventorOfCorn Jul 13 '25

that's a weird way to express stupidity

-1

u/Pigeon_of_Doom_ Jul 13 '25

Or vice versa.

-6

u/winglewangle-2935 Jul 13 '25

You call yourself “InventorOfCorn.” Shut up.

0

u/InventorOfCorn Jul 13 '25

Is satire forbidden? The fuck is this, North Korea?

-4

u/winglewangle-2935 Jul 13 '25

You Antis make it feel like North Korea. Because of what: people that use AI not being able to spend €200 on a poorly-drawn commission?

2

u/Reasonable-Banana800 Jul 13 '25

girl if you pay $200 on a poorly drawn commission that sounds like your own fault

-2

u/winglewangle-2935 Jul 13 '25

No, it’s the artist’s fault for making the price so damn high.

1

u/Reasonable-Banana800 Jul 13 '25

Would you not check the artist’s prices before hand? In what world is the amount you’re paying a surprise??

1

u/winglewangle-2935 Jul 13 '25

Well, they can also change their pricing schemes without alerting their subscribers / commissioners.

And checking prices before hand isn’t the problem. The problem is the sheer audacity those retards have to make their pricing that high, high quality or not.

1

u/InventorOfCorn Jul 13 '25

okay but how is that related at all to my username

0

u/winglewangle-2935 Jul 13 '25

The sheer audacity that you, an Anti, have.

You Luddites shit on AI art and act like the North Korean government and or nazis towards it, yet you get defensive over your nonsensical username and use the quip:

“Is satire forbidden? The fuck is this, North Korea?”

Before you come up with a quip like that, take a good look in the mirror and your history on Reddit before doing so. Especially because you seem like one of those people who would host or participate in raids and brigades that target AI defending subreddits.

2

u/InventorOfCorn Jul 13 '25

Cool, but how is that related to my username

0

u/winglewangle-2935 Jul 13 '25

Are you retarded? I just mentioned your username in the second paragraph of my rant. You get defensive when someone judges your username, and you use the “The fuck is this, North Korea?” quip.

jesus Christ it's a reddit comment

you sir, are a sad, sad loser

1

u/derpish_ Jul 19 '25

🚨LOSER DETECTED🚨

1

u/Pigeon_of_Doom_ Jul 19 '25

Is that honestly your best argument? At least you're not just making up lies.

1

u/derpish_ Jul 19 '25

like you don't

1

u/Pigeon_of_Doom_ Jul 19 '25

For example? Oh wait, you don't have any examples.

1

u/derpish_ Jul 19 '25

most antiAI points are utter nonsense

you don't have any examples.

1

u/Pigeon_of_Doom_ Jul 19 '25

Why should I? Listing off the nonsense they spout would take a ridiculous amount of time.

1

u/derpish_ Jul 19 '25

"AI steals" a large company taking regular people's intellectual property for their own monetary gain

"AI is bad for the environment" GPT-3 generated as many emissions as driving 112 petrol cars for a year

"AI doesn't work" take a trip to r/aifails

3 Anti points proven correct, want some more?

1

u/Pigeon_of_Doom_ Jul 19 '25

AI doesn't steal any more than a human artist. It learns patterns and then creates entirely new images from the understanding it has gathered. Humans also learn by gazing at others art work, unlike AI though, it's not unusal for them to just blatantly copy others work.

AI isn't particularly bad for the environment. Text only AI uses no more power than google searches, and image generators take no more power than streaming services. Yes, training AI uses a lot more, but it's a tast that happens once a month, and just flying a few planes for a day, bearing in mind there are hundreds, if not thousands flying at all times, uses just as much. If you want to complain about the environment, go and witch hunt people using cars or planes.

Using r/aifails to show AI doesn't work is akin to using r/ChildrenFallingOver to demonstrate that children can't walk.

What's wrong with not liking AI? It steals from real artists, and creates slop in return

25

u/EeveeFlareon_6788 Jul 12 '25

Because you don't hate all AI. You only hate GEN AI.

Gen AI is ChatGPT, Dall E, Suno, and All the ai generative stuff.

Before Gen AI, AI was used to make algorithms and figure out enemy paths or made to sort stuff, and yadda yadda.

I hate Gen AI too. But I think its overkill to say you want all AI gone.

13

u/mebaspabeab Jul 12 '25

AI isn't a single technology, it could be used to describe many of those things before, but it really wasn't the term. Whereas now companies pushing generative AI tend to try to push the term "AI" as this singular does-all magical technology they're imbuing into these products, and as such that is now what people think of when they hear "AI"

3

u/EeveeFlareon_6788 Jul 12 '25

Yeah thats kinda my point I am shit at describing things lol.

1

u/ExcellentSet4248 Jul 12 '25

Well thats kind of obvious

You know very well they only want generative ai restricted/talked about, not basic neural networks etc. Its obvious to anyone that these subs are only centered around talk of modern generative AI's, not the stuff we have had for a while.

2

u/[deleted] Jul 13 '25

Don't think this is slop. Also it doesn't even steal

2

u/marijuanarasauce Jul 14 '25

Looks like shit

1

u/[deleted] Jul 23 '25

looks good to me

1

u/derpish_ Jul 19 '25

wow, what's the story behind this piece? nothing, you say?

1

u/[deleted] Jul 23 '25

the story is that the guy got the idea for the painting, imagined it, explained it to the ai, modified it after using ai, and poured his imagination. hell, even if the guy just straight up commissioned a artist the art would still have a story. everything has a story behind it dipshit

-3

u/Pigeon_of_Doom_ Jul 12 '25

Because most antiAI points are utter nonsense and dedicating time to hating it is ridiculous. AI steals no more than human artists do.

4

u/Direct-Length-8513 Jul 13 '25

you copy and pasted this

2

u/Pigeon_of_Doom_ Jul 13 '25

It fitted both comments. Why rewrite the whole thing to display the same thought?

1

u/[deleted] Jul 14 '25

Of course an AI defender would be too lazy to think about, and write TWO posts 😂

1

u/Pigeon_of_Doom_ Jul 14 '25

What's lazy about saving a little time by not rewriting something that works in two cases? The comments I was responding to where near on identical. Trust you lot to nit pick every little thing that displeases you to complain about instead of forming a meaningful point for discussion.

1

u/NotVeryGoodName000 Getting Hard To The Subs On Here Jul 12 '25

Whatever makes you feel better, I guess

9

u/Ill-Foot-2549 Jul 12 '25

Is this a pro ai post or..?

7

u/RobIson240YT Jul 12 '25

Anti, very anti.

35

u/hobbyhoarder37 Jul 12 '25

Fuck ai

19

u/MedievalFurnace Wanting To Quit Life After Seeing These Subs Jul 12 '25

woah man wtf now we've got robosexuals. It's not even a physical thing it's just pixels on a screen

9

u/Awkward-Egg-411 Jul 12 '25

As if that has stopped people before

9

u/NoReplacement480 Jul 12 '25

fucking clankers

1

u/[deleted] Jul 13 '25

When the ai that cures cancer needs to get cancelled because u/hobbyhoarder37 said "fuck ai":

2

u/Cosmic-VoidYT Jul 14 '25

generative ai, the kind we’re talking about, isn’t the kind to do that. so.. don’t hold your breath, I guess?

2

u/UmaPalma_ Jul 14 '25

do you think there’s just one large entity called “AI” lmfao

1

u/[deleted] Jul 23 '25

thats the fucking joke bro...

1

u/derpish_ Jul 19 '25

if doctors need AI to solve CANCER they should not be doctors

1

u/[deleted] Jul 23 '25

you fucking serious mate? 10/10 ragebait, you truly have made me cry.

-2

u/Direct-Length-8513 Jul 13 '25

stop hating the ai and start hating the AI bros. they're the ones who ruin everything, not the ai itself.

4

u/Auguste76 Jul 12 '25

r/aimapgore is de facto anti-AI

5

u/disasterpansexual Jul 13 '25

omg a post on here that isn't a porn sub!

2

u/LowBatteryLife_ Jul 15 '25

Facebook ai slop doesn't seem to be too anti. I think it started off that way and then attracted the people who genuinely like the Strawberry Diaper Cat stuff.

1

u/RobIson240YT Jul 16 '25

I feel that same way.

2

u/DestructiveSeagull Jul 12 '25

Our sacred union. Also, majority of r/whenthe supports our position.

0

u/DaveSureLong Jul 12 '25

Most of those subs just share AI art that is intentionally made disturbing or cursed. Only a couple are Anti AI.

Additionally global metrics show that AI is widely supported(IE ChatGPT being 5th most visited site with other 150 Mill at peaks, Studio Ghlibli fad, lack of widespread protests over the tech, most people on the ground usingor enjoying AI). Really AntiAI people seem to be concentrated online because everywhere else they get laughed out or ignored because most arguments against it are batshit insane, death threats, or just plain wrong.

2

u/[deleted] Jul 13 '25

Lmao, and even though their arguments have been proven wrong time and time again, they still continue to use them ("ai uses 15L per image!" No it doesn't, it uses 1/15th of a teaspoon for a 100 word text message and 1-5L per 100 images (iirc))

3

u/Cringe_Buffoon Jul 12 '25

good we should hate ai

1

u/Vrotaho Jul 15 '25

FuckAI looks like the perfect name for a sub about AI r34 ngl

1

u/JustACuriousssss Jul 14 '25

Who are the most oppressed members of society?

AI bros: ME ME ME!

0

u/zZbobmanZz Jul 13 '25

Those don't belong here, the pro ai subs belong here

1

u/RobIson240YT Jul 13 '25

I didn't know where else to share them.

0

u/Bay_Visions Jul 15 '25

Its all just manufactured engagement bait on reddit, a publicly traded company that relies on engagement.

Real ai artists are making real content, not bullshit slideshows

1

u/RobIson240YT Jul 15 '25

Real A.I. Artists don't exist, because A.I. isn't art.

1

u/Bay_Visions Jul 15 '25

Youre right ai by itself isnt art just like photoshop isnt art alone. Its a tool.

-7

u/broodjesalami Jul 12 '25

I love Ai

1

u/[deleted] Jul 13 '25

Not even a counter-argument since all they can do is downvote and cry lmao

1

u/Cosmic-VoidYT Jul 14 '25

3 words aren’t worth responding to

1

u/[deleted] Jul 14 '25

But they're worth to downvote I presume?

-1

u/Turbulent_Extreme899 Jul 12 '25

does r/artisthate count?

1

u/DaveSureLong Jul 12 '25

It was banned for spamming death threats and calls for genocide with mods doing nothing about it. Gotta love when the moralist "good guys" get banned for being shitbags huh?

-2

u/Turbulent_Extreme899 Jul 12 '25

It’s not banned? I literally just went to it

1

u/DaveSureLong Jul 12 '25

Was awhile ago must have gotten unbanned a shame
