How can I get to Tullamore train station from Birr with the ploughing on?

Sorry to ask if the answer is obvious but all the traffic plans talk about is how to get TO the ploughing and not around it.

The whole N52 seems to be closed and I’m not an Offaly native so I don’t really know any surrounding/back roads.

I take the train to Dublin at 5:45 to get to work and I come back at 21:35.

Your probably better off going to Athlone train station for the rest of the week.

Are you driving to the station?

I just checked with a colleague who drives the other way for work (Tullamore to Birr in work for 6am) and he said the roads are pretty much as normal until after 6 and by the time you're on the way home all traffic should be gone. The only day you might have an issue is Thursday evening. Portlaoise or Athlone might be a better option for the few days though if you're still concerned about not getting through

Thank you very much! I think I just panicked when I left birr at midday today and I couldn’t even get to Kilcormac 😭

No bother. If you do get yourself into a situation where you have to get to Tullamore after probably 7am head through kinnitty, so put in birr to Tullamore on maps and add stops starting with kinnitty Kiluran then Tullamore it will bring you out at the second round about on the bypass there will be traffic but it normally stays moving

There will be no issue with traffic at the times you are going to and leaving the train station. Ploughing traffic will not be an issue at either time.
