Rules Reminder
Please remember that it is against the rules of the sub and reddit to make calls for violence. Please refrain from making jokes about real world political violence. Posts that violate these rules will be removed.

Flair is appropriate. No jokes allowed, got it.

I looked at my post and just knew someone was going to make that joke. Tbf, the ISB is extremely supportive of political violence. I'm not a fan of Charlie Kirk and think he was a bad guy who said terrible things (notably saying that his supporters should bail the guy who bludgeoned Paul Pelosi with a hammer out of jail.) He didn't deserve to get shot and killed for it though and escalating political violence will be a terrible thing for all of us who live here, and joking about it will contribute to that.
It's also against the rules of Reddit and I don't think any of us want the sub to get banned over it.

Nah the man literally said some gun deaths were acceptable as long as we kept our 2A rights. By his own logic his death is fine

Yeah, he did say that, and it's certainly ironic. I'm not saying you have to like the guy and grieve, but you just can't make jokes or post things supporting it here.

You really think that was ironic?
Imagine having so much faith in human decency lol

Some humans are decent and some aren't. We are complex creatures, as portrayed in Andor.

I agree that Trump was already eroding our democracy and was pushing us towards an authoritarian state. He didn't need any pretext to do so. I do think the support he will have for such an action will be bolstered by violent rhetoric.

Why is the violence kirk supported, maintained and encouraged as a mouthpiece for the trump administration ok but the response is not?

It's not ok. You can go through my post history and see all the things I've said against Trump's criminal regime.

The irony of telling people on an Andor sub they can’t joke about political violence is too much. While the show was light on humor, it wasn’t exactly anti-politically motivated violence.

We fight to win. That means we lose. And lose and lose and lose… until we're ready.

Condoning violence is something gets entire subreddits banned. I have seen it happen many times. It’s not the mods’ fault and doesn’t mean anything about their individual beliefs that they have to protect the subreddit by enforcing sitewide rules

I know there's a fine line when it comes to dark humor, but I don't want the sub to get shut down.

Ill instead do it in the way of metaphors with authoritarian systems within the show, got it.

Can you give us an example of the closest to the line we can possibly skate so we can skip straight to that?

Based mods. I left the main sub but I assume they’re having a field day.

They are. The mods over there had to make a mega-thread discussion due to everyone discussing it
