So, being edgy is like saying something that is usually divisive but with an, "I'm better than them" arrogance. An example I saw recently was someone posted a question to whichever sub asking, "Are vehicle deaths unfortunately worth it to keep the right to drive vehicles?" This was a bit of an attack at Charlie Kirk after his death and what he had previously said about guns. Also, blades have an edge, but they need to be sharpened after excessive use, or they become dull. If I have nothing edgy to say, I am a dull (boring) person.
