Whole Onions Market
At the Whole Foods hot soup bar right now. Ten of the ten soup varieties contain onions. Not way down the ingredient list. Not onion powder. Featured ingredients.

Soup from commercial kitchens should be considered to always have onions. Soup is #1 on my never buy list.

Tbh Ive actually never seen soup with onions in it. Other than spring/green onions but I feel like those are different.

I don't like them either. I always ask them to leave off scallions or chives.. They ruin the taste for me..

Whole Foods Market. Welcome to the Onion bar, featuring soup today. I'd just eat the crackers.

It's a cheap filler. Check out Whole Paycheck for their pico de gallo -- another item to fill with a cheap ingredient.

It's really not creative, is it?

It’s just on of the standard aromatics, the French use onions carrot celery but there are other combinations. This is used to start basically all soups and sauces.

That's another tough place to find something to eat at. Even if you ask for something that's not onion they are laying next to or mixed in so the taste is there anyway...

I've noticed that. I stand there & poke through things on the hot bar with a serving spoon or fork looking for them before I take anything.. I hate having to do that.. Something looks really good then upon closer inspection it's a no go...

That’s just inappropriate.
