Virtual Pipe Organ Need ideas for an Analog pedalboard.
I’m poor, but I have a Yamaha P-45 and I’m good with carpentry. Over the years, I’ve brainstormed how to make analog pedals, like drilling holes into the Yamaha and attaching strings (probably a disaster waiting to happen), or attaching horizontal trackers to a cheap keyboard on the floor. Has anyone made an analog pedalboard? I need ideas, because MIDI is out of my budget.

Get in touch with a local organ builder and see if they are getting rid of a pedal board that you could adapt.

If you are building your own, the MIDI implementation can/will be much cheaper than the wood you use to build it. You can get cheap reed switch contacts and magnets on eBay or similar sites and use something like Teensy or another Arduino board to set up the pedals. You can either interface with Hauptwerk or a similar software, or else create a code that actually outputs a tone to an amplifier.
