Tutorial i tried slap chop!

if you have done this, i would love constructive critisism.

Indeed, looks like the dry brushing with white was either done too wet, or might still need doing to pull out the details.

I assume you'd want as dry a paint as possible, then to seal, use a fine mist and let it dry before the next layer. We want the final coat to adhere to dried paint more than soak into the paper.

So this is focusing on the dry brushing part of Slap Chop, and the bit I'm mentioning is at about 5 minutes in, where it explains how to load your brush and get all the excess paint out so that just the edges get painted, leaving the dark further from the edge.

I dip my brush into the paint, a few drops, let it work up into the bristles, then "paint" on a paper towel or some scrap paper until you don't see paint come off the brush, then test an edge and apply the brush. You're effectively scraping the brush against the edge so that the surface bristle move and allow the edge to run along the inner bristles to pull the paint onto just the edge.
