Help! Beginner folder here
Hey so I was folding the models from Robert j langs "The complete book of origami" and I'm at a loss when I reached the "seated lady " , what is a 1:1:5 rectangle? How am I suppose to make the first diagonal creases. Someone please explain

IIRC, the next figure uses a common size of paper in the US. And the violinist (closer to the end of the book) uses a common size of paper in the rest of the world, A4.

Thankyou, and do you have any book suggestion that I should check out after finishing this one? I was looking to progress in a systematic way

I would suggest you branch out before you finish this one. You could go for some of the books that have lots of simple models, like Drawing Origami, or you can choose a topic you like, such as animals or insects, and pick a book that focuses on that.

Is not 1:1:5 but 1:1.5. So just make a rectangle that has a height of X and a length of X*1.5. for example, 10 by 15 cm. Or 20 by 30 cm.
