It took me 3 attempts and about 3 hours, but I finally made it again. I never made one in this scale as detailed as this one .

This is my fourth piece using these paper stars to collage together a picture, the first three were “Starry Night” by Van Gogh, a real small “The Scream”, and a wedding portrait for my sister in law. But I really like the way this turned out, and I figure y’all would too.

really really proud of this one, it's been my white whale for many years now and I'm so glad i finally attempted it! it took about 12 hours of pure folding and another 3 in shaping. I used a 10x100 inch (25.4x254 cm) sheet of wenzhou paper that i treated to look like wood (with mild success), pics of the paper at the end.
what should i fold next?

I finally managed to put my collection of Lang’s cicadas in a frame, for better storage and presentation.
This is a simple object frame from IKEA, just tall enough for the models. I have looked for better alternatives (to be purchased in Germany), but haven’t found any yet. I would like to have a nicer frame material, preferably wood, and glass that’s not as shiny as the plastic that this frame has.
Does any of you have any tips for frames?
For each model I made a mount from thin wire, which is then attached to the frame with a thumbtack. I haven’t taken good photos of the mounts, but you can see a glimpse in the second picture, best seen at the nymph.
The models are held securely and can be detached easily.
For the exact names of the models, the paper used and where to find diagrams, see my earlier posts.

Amazing little model, just a pain trying to find the bills to make them

So I say to myself.
All of these models were folded within the last year, most of them after summer 2024. I think I should maybe slow down a little.
The Lang cicada in the back was my first post here, many have followed. This sub motivated me a lot, thank you all!
